Rome what the fuck are you doing? You are pissing everybody off. Burning Carthage would be a mistake after allying with us.
When the trade fleet reached Carthage, the Carthage traders came but were puzzled by why there was no goods on the ships, but than the men under the deck soon came outside, killing the Carthage traders and storming into town, throwing torches into houses, lighting carts on fire, anything that was flammable was torched. The First Punic War has started.
The Levantine Kingdom asks Tyre to join them in announcing a Selim Doctrine. This doctrine states that if any foreign power tries to colonize any part of geographical Egypt/Judea/Southeast-Anatolia, they will have automatically declared war on the Levantine kingdom, and Tyre, if they so choose. This will give us Hegemony in the eastern Meditteranean, more then we already have. @General Mosh I want to move along the coast of Anatolia for my colonization. Do whatever you want with my colonizing, just focus on moving north, north-west.
State of the Levantine Army: 20,000 men in the standing army, 15,000 are stationed in Cyprus, the other 5,000 in the Kingdom itself. The Tactics used are checkerboard. Phalanxes have largely been abandoned, but can still be adopted before battle. These 20,000 men are constantly training on the large Military base on Cyprus, or back at home. State of the Levantine navy: The Levantine navy has 40 warships.
My millitary was hardly damaged during the greek war. I have my massive fleet and army returning. I have a maned fleet of 50 ships still in Carthage. Most of my population is military trained.
We find this to be a perfect defense against foreign aggressors, and we would like to invite Babylon to this alliance as well. Their military power would be invaluable against defending Anatolia,Egypt and Judea. Tyre has also been considering something else, similar to an earlier Greek proposition. We propose re-instating the old kingdom of Phoenicia. Joining Phoenicia would be entirely voluntary, and members who joined voluntarily would keep full autonomy over their old kingdom. The monarch would be elected and would control the nation as a whole on matters of war, foreign policy and other important occasions. Tyre would like to hear the Levantine opinion on this proposition. I'm pretty sure it was made clear your fifty warships were entirely unmanned and would not be prepared for such an attack. Also, I doubt basic militia training is a match for professional Roman legionnaires. Even then, your military is abysmal, since you sacrificed it to empower your navy.
We are at peace, though still at bad relations. This was a white peace, but we took Cyprus, it's our province now.
The port was in flames, the boats were sunk, the romans soldiers killed all who tried to put the fire out, the romans overwhelmed the city watch, but knew they were going to die.
God mod alert. My fleet would not let that many ships near my city. Your defensless ship are boarded and captured by my war ships and soldiers and sailers. Your men are ordered to turn back.
This is god moding, but to be fair, they were disguised as trade ships and all of your warships are unmanned, which was stated earlier many times.
