No they did not. My grandfather decided to be a factory worker. My Grandmother decided to be a nurse. My grandfathers brother decided to be in the KGB, somewhat through a recruiting process but still it was not decided when he was a child. So yeah, you don't know what Communism is.
@dowdpride You applied for a job, and you got a job. You applied for a home, you got a home... it may not be what you want but what you want is to be created by yourself. Your needs are taken care of under Communism, but not your wants... for that is what you must attempt to obtain for yourself. Communism is not just one ideological group, for what you are talking about is Stalinism. Depending on the type, whether it be Marx-Leninist, Trotskyism, Juche, ect. is how much personal freedom and economic freedom you get. Everyone's needs are met, and thus they all are equals... government is supposed to fade over time but that is just in the orginal concept, we have never seen this happen as of this moment.
