Didnt they try to Assimalate everything before the Soviet Time? Genetics has proven that most people calling themselves Russian have nothing much to do with one another according to my geography class, thats how ethnicly diverse they are.

Not really, a lot of authority was given to local governments, much more than people think.

Ya, that's why nations such as Belarus and Ukraine are very much more different today than a nation, such as Imperial France, would've let them be.

Pretty much a necessity in Russia, where you've got like 1/6 of the world's landmass and all of the various cultures that come across it.

France made a good decision here. I hope they establish this law in the UK, too. They aren't just targeting Muslims with the law, and it still applies to everyone, so I don't see how anyone could see this as unfair.

Nah I haven't. But why did the Orthodox Church there have to go underground while the Muslims in Chechnya were free to practice? That absolutely befuddles me. Is it because they saw the Orthodox Church as a bigger threat? I don't know.

Secularism should not be discriminant, and the shawl is a symbol for Islam. This only affected two-thousand, it effected an entire religious population.
