You assume Egypt is going in the way of radical Islamism though if you saw the protests you'd realize that is not the case and Baradei is far from a radical, fundamentalist Muslim.

First off, Baradei isn't a guaranteed winner. Secondly, he has always been pro-Iran, anti-Israel, which is a large reason as to why we never supported him in the first place. He may not be as radical as Erian, but there is no doubt that he holds little love for Israel, and that he's quite clearly no fan of the US either.

Can you define apartheid, and then cite the prevailing judicial codes in Israel that fit this definition....

*Sits back comfortably in my chair because I know it's going to take awhile*

The point is, the only real stabilizing factor in the middle east since the 70s has been Egypt's relations with Israel. To remove that would allow countries with stronger anti Israeli leanings to band together and try to take her on. Not only do the other Arab nations not have normalized relations with Israel, they don't even acknowledge her existence as a country.

Separation of ethnic groups. In Israel they separate Jewish Roads in the west bank from other roads, they separate Jewish Settlements from everyone else, and they even destroy everyone elses shit to make more.

In a perfect world, a Libertarian who is largly indiferent in his foreign policy. Also he'd be tolerent of other religions (at least the major ones).

Oh, and he'd be able to fly and shoot lasers from his eyes.

In a perfect world there would be no Libertarians so your theory is flawed.

No, for in a perfect world the Libertarians would already have outcompeted everyone else, and thus they'd have to secure the Egyptian Presidency.

There is something seriously wrong with your argument.

First off Baradei has to seek the best interests for Egypt, not Israel. Nor do those in Egypt do, or should care, of US and Israeli sentiments towards their best interests. Mubarak was a puppet propped up by US and Israeli regimes that oversaw the methodical rape of Egypt and its wealth. The man went from a president to a criminal, so no I don't care what America or Israel thinks so long as the best interests of Egypt are in mind.

Also you say you are afraid of Egypt being pro-Muslim and getting closer to the Arab nations and yet say that you are afraid of a pro-Iran Baradei when you should know that the Arab nations distrust Iran far more than Israel. Make up your mind and stick to an argument because it seems like you are becoming very circular.

Kalalification's primary concerns always seem to be the pro-American concerns. Regardless of what is best for the nation.

How exactly is a denormalization of relations with Israel in anyone's best interests?
Why on earth would I possibly care about the best interests of Egypt, especially if it comes at a cost to regional security and is directly opposed to my national and personal beliefs?
You'll notice that only governments with strong US ties in the Middle East aren't more friendly with Iran than Israel. All of the Islamist governments, from the Gaza Strip's Hamas to Turkey's AKP make nice with Ahmadinejad, especially at the expense of Israel, US, and Western strategic interests.
Well duh, I'm an American, not an Egyptian.

Because Mubarak put Israel's interests above Egypt's interests for his own personal interests. If you don't see something seriously wrong with that, then your mentality leads to something akin to this:

Okay, that's fine, but why do you think 80 million people who have seen life methodically taken out of their country for the past 30 years care whether or not your neo-western ass goes to bed feeling safe or not? These are not people who are looking for regional security, nor are the people looking out for their interests. Often you will find people who are struggling to even live. And if you think they care about what some Westerner believes, you are severely mistaken. They're going to be the future of a nation who has been down trodden upon for so long by Western/Israeli interests and no longer have the interference of outside forces.

Scary thought isn't it? A nation taking care of its own looking out for its people?

Iran's utilization of trying to help Palestinians in the region has helped that. Their marriage with the likes of Syria is purely based off of defense more than anything. America is at their doorstep so of course they need to rely on one another in order to stay alive. Also when is Turkey Arabic?

Fact is Arab states, especially conservative states, still look at Iran in suspicion given the Sunni-Shi'a paradigm which has had a stifling effect on both nations relationship. Egypt wouldn't enter into any alliance with Iran, it'd be too dangerous.

Also important to note is the fact that the Iranians aren't Arabs, they're Persians. They have an entirely different cultural heritage, and the two groups have hated each other for years. It's so bad that in some countries it's a crime to call it the Persian gulf (they call it the Arab gulf over there)

I still agree with Kali though, the regimes have shown more Iranian inclinations in recent years, overriding the predominant populist, cultural and religious sentiments.

Nationalism? More like what can realistically affect my personal well-being and the well-being of people I know about. And I hardly think that you can claim any moral high grounds...
