I'm a die hard fan of the Fallout series and I own both of the Bethesda games, but I can't decide which one I like better. So I'd like to know which one you preferred and why please.

In Fallout 3 I loved the way the game actually made you feel like a "Lone Wanderer" in a wastleland and I thought that the downloadable content was amazing. Plus I the fact that they got Liam Neeson to the voice act the part of James (your father) was pretty awesome.

In Fallout: New Vegas I loved how you could modify your weapons/ammo and the multiple factions that you can join/convince to join you are really cool. Plus New Vegas on its own is pretty epic.Fallout_3_cover_art.png[/attachment:3flc4m5v]192px-FNV_box_art_(US).jpg[/attachment:3flc4m5v]

I think New Vegas was a way more polished game, and the actual gameplay was more enjoyable. I also liked the expansion of factions, and that you had the option of working with whomever you wanted.Obviously there's something innately compelling about roaming through the Capital wastes, and especially having lived in DC, it was really interesting to get to be absorbed in the post apocalyptic version of the city. Not to say, new Vegas wasn't interesting in and of itself, but you simply can't compare to seeing the Washington monument and all of the other landmarks as ruins. I also think the story to 3 was more compelling. While NV let you choose your own destiny, there wasn't really anything compelling about trying to find Benny, and even deciding the fate of the region in the battle of the Hoover damn just didn't seem as important as finding your father and then seeking vengeance.

Two great games, but I think in the end I would go with the more polished gameplay of New Vegas. You really can't go wrong though (just got done playing like 4 hours of 3 to finish 100%ing it.

You know fallout 3 has none of the original story plot right?

I'll admit that I just spent like 15 minutes on google earth looking at all the FO: NV places in real life.

Did you spend 2 hours looking at the timeline of the entire fallout history?

In my opinion fallout 3, despite the gameplay not being as good as new vegas, is the better game because of the atmosphere, it really lets you feel like a wanderer roaming through wastes of d.c., I just did not feel that on the same level in new vegas. I still like new vegas, but i just could not get into the game as much, although caesar's legion is the fucking shit.
