I'm an American, so I'd have to say George III of the United Kingdom. Our last ruler before we left the Empire for independance. He kicked ass throughout his reign, really only losing to us in his time as King of the United British Kingdom. Woot for jack/smart-ass-ish anwsers!

I actually got reminded by the socialist Pieter Jelles Troelstra who (during the outbreak of the Spanish Flu) climed on the table in the House of Representatives, and shouted: "Revolutie, revolutie!" ("Revolution, revolution!") and people just stood there, saying: "Just go home, take a bath, relax..."

Abraham Lincoln. Reunited the nation, freed the slaves, founded the Republican Party, ended the threat of sessesion, and, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant men to ever live.

Gustav II ''The Lion Of The North'' Adolf . Mostly because he was an awesome general also because he had a cool beard.
    [IMG]Look at that beard.
Closely followed by Gustav Vasa because he hoarded gold and fucked churches up.

The thing is that back in the 1860s the Republican party was very diffrent from the one of today.

Yea the roles of the parties were almost reversed, the republicans where the progressives, while the democrats were the ones resisting change.

The Democrats aren't much better. That's why America is in such a state right now.

It's the fault of neither party. You get who you vote for, and the visitors of some obscure website on the internet named after a Ukrainian communist can't change anything 'bout that, I'm afraid.
