Well I met some people from New Hampshire when I went to Boston but they had a Vote Obama 2012 bumper sticker so I figured they were alright.
I accept them as I get something in return and I only believe raising them on people who can afford to pay more. I also like it as if the money doesn't go to something that I use it goes to do something that could possibly help someone else.

How? As long as there is a monetary system in human society, there will be taxes.

Tell you what, if you can find a way of militarily protecting a large landmass whilst preserving the rule of law amongst a population divided into various ethnic, cultural, socio-economic subgroups on zero income. You let me know k?

I am for a flat tax. However the tax system as a whole needs to be redone. The IRS has turned into the Gestapo.

Once again I agree with Governor Perry. 20% Flat Tax. That will function well.

Well they kind of need to be. America would be in a afar worse state if the U.S. wasn't so aggressive about collecting taxes. 20% flat tax is insane, for the middle class, lower class, and small business that is a huge tax hike and for corporations and the upper class is a huge tax cut which is quite possible the worst and most exploitative plan I have ever heard.

But taxes have equal percentage for everyone. I don´t agree with the existance of taxes, but is a lesser evil then different tax percentages for certain people or certain property. It is equality, which is good.

As long as their is money, there is taxes. So lets burn all money!!

I agree with a flat tax. My father tells me how the IRS screws him over every year. HE payed $60,000 dollars worth of taxes in 2011. We are a middle class family but apparently, we class as high class in IRS standards so we get taxed more.

Your dad payed 60,000 in taxes? My dad only makes 30,000 a year. If you're middle class then I must be poorer than I thought.

Thats low class bro, unless your living on 2 incomes that's low class. I think a annual income of under 42k is considered low class

Me too. However, the 'middle class' is quite large in the US, or the idea of it is. The vast majority of Americans consider themselves some form of 'middle class', truth aside.

I have always wondered why you Americans account your wages per year, and not per month. For example (I re-read it and it was a little confusing :p), "I gain/make 3000$ per month".

Unless he's a small business owner, or neglected to pay taxes for a few years, I'm going to have to call that into question. In order for him to have to have paid 60,000 a year in taxes he would needed to have filed independently making at least $181819, or filed jointly (if your parents are married) $214,286. Those figures are assuming zero deductions which even if he self filed with turbo tax he's likely to get a ton of deductions. Both of those figures place you at least in the upper middle class to the upper class and would leave you with more then enough income to live comfortable.

The problem with a flat tax is it disproportionately affects the poor classes. Using your father as an example. If he files jointly (which I will use just for simplicity of comparison with other numbers) with no deductions (and having a kid is a deduction) and pays $60,000 in taxes, that means he earned $214,286 in a year. That also means that after taxes he still has $154,286. If you tax a guy making $45,018 (the median income in the US, so for you guys who think this is "lower class", half of American HOUSEHOLDS make less then this) the same rate (a flat tax) he would owe $9,004 in taxes. Many of you say "well this is x less then the wealthier couple", however look at it this way. At the end of the day, the first family would still have $154,286 to live off of, the poorer family would only have $36,014 to live off of. It's difficult in most areas to live off that sum if you're a single individual, whereas a family could comfortably live off of 150K almost anywhere.

The concept here is similar to the economic concept of diminishing returns. the difference between 36k and 45k is much larger in real value then the difference between 154k and 214k. There isn't much you can do with 214k that you can't do with 154k. On the other hand the difference between 45k and 36k is likely eating ramen every night for a year versus being able to prepare a healthy family meal.

He's got a gf, and I don't know how much she makes, less than him, though. I also have two siblings and his girlfriend has a daughter that stays weekends or some shit. At most we bring in 60,000 a year, for a family of at least five. Is that still low class? I have no idea what most people are. I've always just assumed that other people are rich and I'm normal.

I don't know how things are up there, but if I make the conversion betwen dollar and peso, I think we make like 30k/32k, and we live REALLY well. I mean, I don't intend to presume :p but we have two houses, a nice car, you get the idea.

My father pays all the taxes and this $60,000 amount is the total taxes my family pays. So its jointly payed taxes.
