    Ironically almost half of Reichstag defenders were foreigners including French volunteers and one of the largest divisions at that time: Nordland.


    In evacuating Hitler's bunkers staff, only parts of the first wave survived trough the that night.

    during ww1 the U.S. government was sued by mauser (german firearms manufacturer) because they copied the mauser 98 rifle.
    the U.S. ended up paying a royalty to Mauser for each rifle produced until their entry into the war in April 1917.
