Robert E. Lee was arguably the best American general. He made one mistake (as yuri pointed out, just like you), but he is far better than the others on that list like Patton, Eisenhower, and Rommel

Okay I will end the flame war I started by saying that it is debatable who was the better general Napoleon or Wellington and is still argued by historiens today so I will leave the desision to them.

Lee wasn't even the best general in his ARMY... Jackson was better, as was Longstreet...

I would not say Jackson was better. Jackson was slow to react and was regularly late to his battles. Longstreet was too passive in my opinion but was right about Gettysburg

The Shayetet 13 doesn't crosstrain with the Americans. They are pretty secretive. Anyway, but they are trained for longer and have superior weaponry to the Americans. Not to mention that they have far higher mission success rates than any other Spec-Ops team in the world.

How dare you say that, Wellington was being defeated by Napoleon until Blücher arrived.

I looked up shayetet 13 on wikipedia and it said specifically that they cross train with other special operations groups including the seals. As for weaponry American special operations groups don't have standard weapons they have access to pretty much any weapon and use whatever is best for the current mission. and as for training according to wikipedia both receive around the same amount which totals for both around twenty to twentyfive months, And both seem siminlary structured. here are the pages for both. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BUD/S and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shayetet_13 ,though the shayetet 13 page has less information then the seal page probably because they are secretive like you said.

Napoleon was, sadly, a very good general. It really pains me to say things like this.

I'd like to vote in the American Naval commander of the Pacific fleet.

why does it pain you to say Napoleon was a great general? If its because you hate the French, he was more Italian than he was French as Corsica had become French territory only recently and he spoke Italian better than he spoke France

Napoleon, great general and all that, but when you hear the bloke was French he just losses all credibility.

He was a Frenchie that led the Grand Armee to defeat, doesn't get any worser than that.

Stop talking out of your ass. He was not just the king, he had been leading the companion cavalry since he was a child. He was always there on the front line and always led the cavalry charges. Many times he was nearly killed in the fighting. Stop acting like he was some royal pussy that just ordered his men to attack and watched.
