I prefer games that are unwinnable. This is too simple to be that entertaining. Role play is where its at.
Tech? Also I was thinking about making it so Capital citys get to roll two dice when being attacked. But only in defence. Does anyone else think it is a good idea?
So basically, the white region will be eaten up incredibly fast as anyone who borders a white territory can just gobble it up instantly?
Tech, yea, like what weapos, etc. Shouldn't we be able to research things and weapons that could modify the dice rolls.
Maybe 80%. I mean you don't want Germany knocking out England (via Netherlands) on a lucky roll from Turn 4 (after 3 Turns of peace).
No, dude. That would require an economic system to buy tech and weapons, and a trade system to back that up, so increased diplomacy, which is out of place in a war game. It would take weeks to create a balanced game that complex.
I have a system actually... but it would require, instead of dice rolls, actual roleplaying, but it's already set up, mostly. If anyone is interested.....
Maybe in the future, but not for this game. This is just a test by the way. The second round I am planning on doing N. America with a far larger map and hopefully we can get at least 15 people if not more. Also honestly the probability of rolling a larger number than six with two dice is only larger to a degree, but still the odds of rolling six or less is 5:7 I believe. I think this number is rather good because it brings the slight realism that that capital is usually harder to take but still doable.
How about if the capital has been completely surrounded, or any city for that matter, it has to surrender due to lack of supplies eventually? That way, entire wars don't get reversed once the enemy reaches your capital.
There is no need for tech as attacks are all chance, a roll of the dice. Would just add to the complexity and we don't need it. I could equip my entire army with blow up dolls for weapons and they would be as effective as if I had them equipped with guns, since it's all on a roll of the dice. On that note, all of my soldiers are equipped with blow up dolls. @ Link, I don't like that idea very much.
In my world capitals are abundant with natural resources! But I seriously think the two dice for a defending (not attacking) capital city is a good idea, it gives a person a fighting chance if they are almost out. You capital bonus does not move either, it would stay there and that person who controls the capital would get that bonus on that spot as well, until taken by someone else.
