Well TA's maintain office hours that students can come to for help with the class, but in most lower level classes, no one uses them until the end of the term or before a paper or test. In some classes we sit in them and write up class summaries, or help the prof with tech related stuff. Sometimes were the ones writing up exams or paper questions. Sometimes we grade papers or tests or homework assignments. Some classes are even taught by the Ta's (usually in science labs, or liberal arts discussion classes) and not the professors. It really depends on the professor / TA relationship and how much trust the professor has in the TA and how busy the professor is. All I've had to do this term was grade papers and answer emails.
Again, depends. Generally, it's part of a graduate program. Some professors, however, will ask a select few students who perform exceptionally well in their class to help them out next semester. To be a teaching TA it's usually part of a phd program, but some masters programs give you teaching experience as well
Seriously, enjoy school while you can. Do your homework, get good grades, graduate, and try to enjoy yourselves while doing it. Because its olny going to get a hellava lot harder once you face the real world. One of my acquaintances from another forum had all this shit happen to him this year, in a single week.
I complained about that shit when I was a kid too . I just thought it was dumb when a girl complimented me on where I got my jeans with holes in em... "I didn't buy these like this, I just wore them a lot..."
im in the 9th grade as well and im pissed of cause last week my teacher gave me a 0 cause i didn't see someone cheating off me and to make it worse that was 20% of my grade so i cant make A and B is gonna be close to impossible to pull off Oh ya and BTW first semester the science CREATIONIST teacher gave me detention because we were learning evolution and she didn't want to teach it right so i raised my hand, she called on me and I gave gave a 2 minute summary of evolution. but other then her all the teachers love me cause i talk in class but make strait A's cept English grammars a bitch prob cause its my 3rd language but shouldnt make excuses

I meant that your story is almost a photocopy of the situation I was describing; a situation you don't want to put yourself in.
My biology teacher is a creationist as well. It wouldn't matter if she didn't openly talk about God and never get a single complaint. She's literally spent the majority of class periods talking about religious experiences she's had.
Pretty sure he just wants you to brown nose your teacher so you get an A instead of actually trying to help; basically just resist your morality no matter how unnatural and unsettling it may be to you, nod, smile, turn in your homework with whatever answers your teacher wanted, and presto, you've graduated but you seem to have lost what separates a man from a machine... the ability to think.
