Go ahead and think what you want, but don't waste class time talking down to your classmates/teacher, as you are more than likely going to make an ass of yourself than to actually further any sort of understanding. Common sense people, common sense.
well i was but i could let him sit there and teach everyone that god made us the way we are everyone in the class is a christan of course though
Yup. 'Gee, I really hate the politcal alignment of my country, and lots of innocent people are being harmed by it, but common sense deems it logical to sit back lest I "stir the metaphorical pot."Wouldn't want to actually make a stand for something I believe in, no siree.'

Having reasonable discussion with them is fine but pure belittlement makes you more idiotic then them.
It's not a political rally, it's a science class. Go make a stand for something when you're old enough to understand what you're making a stand for. That, and when you get freedom of speech.
I wasn't aware that when we turned 18, we suddenly developed all of our intuition and understanding of the universe as if magically the world became a looking glass; and ourselves able to understand all of lifes intricacies in the greatest of details. Or perhaps, just by asking the questions that would further our understanding of the universe of the supposed learned professors of knowledge in charge of our education, we may, and keep this in mind, just MAYBE, might teach them something; or at the very least, expose our ignorance, which will enable us to rectify our faulty knowledge. I fail to see the problem with this line of thinking, but MAYBE I'm wrong.

Well, since most good games are 18+ I think I'm quite alright. What's important is that we suppress the nonsense that the age challenged will no doubt spew forth if given freedom of speech.
The tactful way to do this is to approach your teacher after class. You can take your stand, and not take up you, the teacher or the class's time...
I don't really care if a teacher is religious or not. Makes no different to how skilled you are at reading out of a text book and telling people to do the questions. I can see why people would be scared about a religious person teaching science. A subject that promotes the use of evidence and logic.
Wow, so it seems that even though most people here seem to have very complex, developed political opinions they do not like to speak about them with anyone else other than on the internet. If you had a fascist teacher would you have sat there and let them teach everyone that your race is superior naturally? No, I dont think so. So when a teacher says something that you disagree with why shouldn't you step up and voice your opinion and say whatever the fuck you want? It's not being idiotic, it's being vocal. You think great people happen because they don't speak up about the most mindless things. You have to start somewhere, if creationsim is that starting point then fuck that dumb creationist teacher that gives you a detention for voicing your opinion.
I can understand your frustration at being given detention for speaking out (at least in a way that is not rude or disrupts the class for too long). In regards to your fascist teacher comment, I believe that if students were sat down and told by an authority figure that THEY were superior, there's a good chance they would believe it. Which is quite scary. Also you don't have to be fascist to spread that kind of information but you probably know that already.
Yeah, that's where I draw the line, creationism and science... or if a creationist like mentions religion all the time like totally unprovoked just spouting their religious propaganda, I would probably tell them they were stupid eventually. Or just drop the class and get another teacher (if your in highschool). I went to a catholic school 3-8 and they taught science unbelievably well without bias, I think it's fair to expect the same out of our public schools.
