if I may take the turn so generously given to me by maddog, this one seems easy to me, let's see how y'all deal with it. name that airship, and tell everyone why it's special.
USS Macon, one of 4 rigid airship commissioned during the inter-war period. Most notable being that it found the USS Houston (who was carrying the President Roosevelt on a trip back from Hawaii) and dropped some newspapers on it, that only 2 people died during it's crash (both unnecessary with one bailing to soon and another swimming back to get personal stuff) and together with it's sister (the USS Akron) are the world record holders for Helium-filled ships. It's currently registered in the National Register of Historic Places and is closed to the public because it's too deep.
I'll give you it, I was looking for the fact that it contained hangars within the balloon. I knew it would be an easy one. Anyway, looks like you're up maddog
Tell me which rifle this is AND what was so special about it. (an easy one this is ) BFG.png[/attachment:1ycvlpkb]
Yup. You are correct, your turn. I know that it's technically not exclusive to the Lee-Enfield, but most likely a British Infantrymen would've done it with this and would rather have shopped off his leg then part with it.
His uniform looks more in style of south america but i really don't know much about this time period on that continent. oh btw. are you brazilian?
yea, he's not from the US, but it's around the civil war time period. he's a cavalry commander if i'm not mistaken, he reached the rank of marshal and was at the biggest war ever fought in south america!!
since i missed my turn and maddog isnt taking his il do it. time period, which war, what battle, perhaps who painted it, and if you can identify the troops that would be cool. if you want clues just ask. sneaky.jpg[/attachment:2m1apncv]
