    Name a Republican who isn't a religious extremist. Or, name a Religious extremist who isn't Right/Far Right wing.

    This wasn't a secret agenda, Republicans have been trying to make abortion illegal for about forty years
    NY State Senator Roy McDonald for a "socially progressive" Republican

    The Republicans don't represent the right anymore than the Democrats do.

    And just religion is simply more prevalent in the far right, so your obviously going to have more extremists. But in reality, they aren't any worse than the socialists enforce atheism through violence. Anyways, it isn't part of the right wing politically or ideologically though, so there's little to no correlation. You have no logical basis for associating the two simply because of one party.

    I always find it ironic that Roe v Wade came out of a conservative Supreme Court. Now, though I do not in any way support this bill, I will say this, the socially conservative posture on the issue is as such: when a women becomes pregnant, the liberty of her unborn "whatever you may think it" trumps the liberty of the mother. In other words, the next generation is given precedence over the previous. Now, do I think that that justifies not preforming life saving procedures? No. But I want there to be some understanding.

    @Coexistance and Matt
    I consider the Democrat party only slightly higher than the Republicans. A 'Lesser evil', if you will. I think of both parties to be Right-wing extremists, so yeah.

    On the political compass scale Authoritarian generally means socially conservative, as well as pro-economic interventionism.

    Bad stuff all around...

    That's just silly on so many levels. The Democrats are center right, and the Republicans certainly aren't extremists. Social policy has nothing to do with political standing.

    1st off, by international standards, the Democrat party are Conservative. And 2nd off, I'm a Communist, so anything beyond Center-left is right wing for me. Liberals included.

    The Republican party, as a whole, are not extremists. There may be some, but not nearly all.

    To clear up confusion, On the Political Compass, Democrats are close to the center of the chart in the top right corner, while the republicans are right in the middle of the top right corner. Not much of a choice.
