You clearly have no idea what your talking about. You don't judge political standing or ideologies based off your own policy, but rather theirs. Just because your a pinko doesn't mean you can misdefine ideologies.

Well, that is not really surprising. Most Dems and Republicans only disagree on social issues.

Religion as a trait of the right? Atheism as a trait of the left? How incredibly disappointed I am in the two of you.

    Reality =/= Victoria 2

That was the whole point I was trying to make. There's no correlation between religion/social issues and political standing. He's basically saying religion is a trait of the right, so I was countering by making the example, if only to show how silly his point is.

Not trying to claim what I said as fact there ^. That's my opinion on the matter.. The way I perceive everything. In the same way that an Extremist Republican would view anything beyond Center-right as 'Socialist' or 'Far Left'. I think I have worded what I am trying to say wrong, as I meant for the last part to be a joke, more at my expense.

@ Demon - I was stereotyping. There are a lot of Religious Socialists. In fact, I am a fan of the quote 'Jesus was the first Socialist'. But the majority of the Far-right is Religious. Edit: I don't think I worded that properly.

Then I suggest you work on your wording.

The far-est right wing group in America are the Rand-loving-Libertarians, who are militantly atheist. The truth of the matter is that Religious standing transcends the realm of political philosophy.

Anyway. I really wish I could say I'm surprised that the self-proclaimed "pro-life" segment of the Republican party would suggest something like this.

Do you have anything to actually back that up?

Thought that made it abundantly clear.

Can't quit put my finger on it, but you have this tendency to sub-consciously use what appears to be doublespeak in place of sarcasm or comparison when responding to certain people.

I'm not trying to say that Right-wing represents the Religious community. But if you look at the Republican house in America, it would be hard to find an Atheist amongst them. To clarify, Religion is not a trait of the right wing. It just happens that a lot of them are Religious.

@ Kali - If you want proof, look at all of the Republican presidential candidates. I think even Ron Paul is Religious? (Let me check on that..)

Edit: Rushed this post out too fast.

Perhaps. My guess is that it's because of my relative feeble mindedness at this hour of the night. I've never done it before though.

If you look at any house in the world it would be hard to find an atheist among them.

As it stands. The Republican party has been less concerned with economics, and more concerned with representing the protestant population. As part of their "Traditional" and "Family Values" social standing. That's why we like to refer to them as Neo-con.

And by the way, you'd be hard pressed to find an Atheist representative amongst the dems as well.

The Religious Composition of the 112th Congress
    483 Christian
    39 Jewish
    3 Buddhist
    2 Muslim
    8 Misc.

The majority of the Christians are in-fact Republican. On a side note, there no members of Congress that are openly irreligious

America is predominantly Christian. It makes sense that in a representative system that representatives will also be predominantly Christian.

This is why you shouldn't vote for the Republicans... They promise they'll fix the economy, but they also wanna introduce very conservative ethical bullcrap.
