You can't really use that over half of our President's have been not Republican since the party has not always existed, and that the positions of the Republican party have changed dramatically over time.

So is your argument then that the 43 protestant presidents were all philosophically in line with the current iteration of the Republican party? The point he was making is that religion isn't exclusive to the Republicans.

Yeah, but Republicans are generally the ones that have their religion influence their policy-making.

This is terrible and I can't believe it has actually come up in our governmental process. It makes me sick.

You are a democracy. Anything that can be said will eventually be said. Any proposal, no matter how insane, no matter how unlikely to pass, will be heard.

Most of the politicians are religious, its just that republicans tend to be more fundamental (at the moment).

Wow. I mean, just wow. The dems are pretty religiously based as well. #2 THE MAJORITY OF THE UNITED STATES USES RELIGION TO GUIDE THEIR MORALS. NO CANDIDATE WILL WIN WITHOUT PROFESSING SOME KIND OF FAITH.

Well Eisenhower was taxing the ultra-rich at about about 95% of income per year, and Nixon grew up on welfare. But "corrupt" and "rich protection" are vague terms please have some specifity in you posts.

True. "Tricky Dick" was almost paranoid about the wealthy. But for the whole, most presidents were wealth and well educated, as the framers intended.

I hate abortion since its not prolife, but I think there should be some social policies in place to help the victim of rape. Like financial help, free healthcare for the child, and others.

I think you're the boy here, with you tendency to say fuck to everything that doesn't go right with your ideology.
