I spent a couple of days learning some convoluted idea that it led to the renaissance...[/quote:239fosqp]

It actually did in some degree, because after it people stopped believing that God would do everything for them if they made wars in his name, or praying in his name. It later led to new Ideas, especially from the Italian universities.

The byzantine empire fall did alot to help the renaissance, as well as did the losing of Catholic church power.

I think a lot of people have never heard of any of the punic wars which is disappointing at least to me since I love history, All of those Punic wars ultimately decided who would be the ultimate civilization for a very long time, can you imagine how much modern Civilizations if Carthage would have won all the Punic wars? I can tell you right now that the world we know would not be the same.

Don't feel bad, Demondaze didn't even get it that bad. I didn't even hear about the Influenza Epidemic in my History Book. I had to learn it outside school. But my teacher would be pissed if you didn't know the exact dates of the Spanish American War.

There really needs to be more balanced history in our schools. There is a couple kids in my class who are always saying, "well why dont we just nuke them?" and their being serious.
These are the same kids who think the US can get away with declaring war on the World and winning.

All the rest was American History. Like seriously weve learned the American Revolution 3 freaking times. And we never got up to America in World War 2 once...or eve World War 1 for that matter. I mean we dont need to learnt the same stuff about the revolution 3 freaking times.
