I'm sure people don't hear a lot about these, but they weren't really HUGE wars.

The Byzantine-Sassanid wars, which paved the way for the Islamic conquest of Arabia and the Persian Empire.

True, however I think that the Greco-Persian wars were even bigger than the Italian wars and Pyrrhus's campaigns.

Especially with Heroin. Tough Russia has been attempting to crack down on it.

Ever since Russia left communism, it has become the biggest drug using country in Europe and it keeps getting worse.

    The dreaded double post.

But the current russian president has done some good things in cracking down on the drug trade in Russia tough when compared to alot of other countries is no where enough.

I can't find the delete button so can a mod get that for me?
Hes trying, but the government doesn't have enough power support in the country right now. Whereas the Russian Mafia has a LOT of support, especially from former Spetsnaz/KGB agents who were let go in the "reductions by force".

It was a means of controlling the populous while Putin was in, tough now that Putin is the master of russia you will see a much harsh crack down on drugs.

Nothing is too late, tough pretty much Putin is just using crime as away to stop it to seem awesome and to stay in control.

Russia really needs to capitalize on its Siberian mineral deposits and oil fields.

Finally someone pointed that fact out, everyone allways goes "why don't the Russians or even the Canadians get all there resources out" and its exactly because of that reason, tough if global tempatures are rising it might come to help the Russians get more access to those deposits and boost there economy.

Actually not true. We have equipment that will work well in the cold, but it is expensive.
