The following destroys the myth of an irrational Iran that poses an existential threat to Israel and is developing nuclear weapons:

No, most are absolutely forced to. Prostitution is one of the most dangerous, degrading, psychologically damaging jobs in the world. Pretty much everybody who does it lives in poverty levels of income, are drug addicted, and are depressed/suicidal. That you would believe blatant bullshit like that proves you to be a sexist.

That's awful. I'm for legal brothels, but I get the feeling that they aren't exactly in a situation where they want to be soliciting sex. Either way, I'm married, and I would never consider a prostitute. I have my vices, but I'd be inclined to help them far more than have sex with them.
Plenty of people choose to work in brothels, which is a safe, controlled environment. They should have every right to sell their body through a well organized system.
Prostitution is only slavery in the most common context people see it today. The women who work at brothels are well paid, have decent benefits, and are more than likely doing something they chose to do. Prostitution under a pimp is awful, and should be completely illegal, and I certainly wish we could get them off the streets. But brothels are a different story.

I'm not going to watch your shock video on street prostitution, seeing as I doubt it's relevant to the fully legal and safe brothels that exist in Nevada. Man, we are really off-topic.

Playing devil's advocate, some would say that you're the sexist when you dictate what a woman can do with her body.

That's pretty awful, but I don't think that makes me a sexist. I just think someone has soveirgnty over their own body, and that they should be able to do what they want with it in a legal, clean, and checked environment. Check this out. It isn't a pretty world, but it's one someone should be free to choose if they past drug tests and the such.

I agree, as I believe we alone should have sovereignty over our own bodies. It's just the regulation that needs to happen. I wouldn't say that makes him a sexist though.

If a person chooses to have sex with a bunch of people, that is their choice. But the vast majority of the time, prostitution is not a choice. They do it because they have no others means of making income, no other means of surviving. Generally, most people in the 'Sex industry' are in financial poverty, are drug addicted, have serious mental illnesses, low education, and a lot of the time are illegally smuggled into the countries they are in to work as sex slaves.

Saying 'Prostitution should be legal' is like saying cocaine or some other more dangerous drug should be legal. There probably are people in the world who use said dangerous drugs responsibly, but the fact is, most people don't, and are in serious danger because of them. Therefore they should remain illegal. (By dangerous drug, I don't mean marijuana/other non harmful-ish drugs. I mean the heavy shit.)

People aren't usually forced into working in brothels if the system is run right. It should be heavily monitored and regulated.
We aren't talking about street level prostitution here. Did you not watch my video? Those are not bad places to work, assuming you want to be in that kind of career.
We aren't talking about the Triad running the sex trade, we are talking about a sufficiently monitored system that keeps out people who aren't in their right mind, or shouldn't be here in the first place.
Street level prostitution is not all prostitution, and assuming it is wrong. If someone wants to work in the industry, and pass a abundance of tests, tell me why they shouldn't be able to work in a controlled environment?

Unfortunately matt, the majority of prostitutes do not work in legal Brothels. And as long as capitalism exists, there will be a need for a poverty class. That's just how capitalism works. And as long as capitalism, and thus the poverty class exist, illegal prostitution will remain the only option for a lot of people.

My point is - You will never be able to create a fair, and safe sex industry under our system.

Edit: And please don't try to re-define words to suit your argument.

If you would listen to what I'm saying, I speak of the legal, regulated brothels that exist in Nevada. The people there want to work there, or chose to over any other form of manual labor. I would prefer a even more highly regulated system, and there is nothing to show that one couldn't exist and work.
None of this is relevant to the argument of whether or not legal, regulated, and clean brothels should be allowed to exist. It's just some nonsensical cop out. The reality is that the government shouldn't have the power to dictate what a woman or man does with their genitalia in a safe and legal environment. It's not my call to tell a woman what she can do with her lady parts, as long as her immediate safety is taken care of, and she's not taken advantage of.
Except we already the groundwork for one in Nevada, and other places in the world. It's just a matter of keeping it safe.

3man's post was regarding illegal prostitution, so that is what I based my argument off. I'm not sure why you seem to think the argument is regarding 'Safe/legal' prostitution. (Which in the long run isn't that much better, anyway.)

Because you responded to my posts regarding that, and it's what I've been supporting.
I think decent pay, decent benefits, and a safe environment is a hell of a lot better than being sold on the street. I think the people who work at these institutions would agree. Moral issues aren't relevant, you shouldn't be able to dictate what women does with her genitalia in a safe and checked environment.
Your moral issues with it aren't relevant, some people choose to do it, or prefer it to other work available. I don't think I should be able to tell them what they do with their lady parts.
I don't think you should make such a sweeping generalization that many would find insulting. I would say the vast majority of the people working in regulated brothels are completely fine mentally, and if you watch the documentary I posted, I bet the fine, honest, and hard working women there wouldn't appreciate someone saying they have a mental illness.

I'm not trying to dictate what women can and can't do with their bodies. I'm trying to say that under capitalism, no safe/fair sex industry can exist. And sure it's safer, but these women are treated like shit by their 'Clients'. They are physically treated as objects, and forced to have sex with fat, dirty old men, a lot of the time being verbally abused all the while. The fact is, and no matter how good the pay or the benefits, that kind of treatment would make anybody mentally unstable after a while.

Again, I'd recommend you watch that video I posted. It was made by an actual ex-prostitute, who I assume is more qualified when it comes to this than either of us. (And also debunks that whole 'Empowerment' bullshit message in the video you posted.)

The political system isn't particularly relevant to how the system works or operates.
I doubt it. You ever seen a brothel? The bouncers protect their women, and if a man get's crazy, they won't hesitate to beat the shit out of them. Same applies to if they get too mouthy.
Those people know what they are getting into, and they can get out of it, if need be. It's not a one way choice like street prostitution.
That's just the owners mouthing off. Not worth listening to. The real meat lies within the interviews with the prostitutes themselves, who are actually, shockingly enough, nice and adjusted people. As for your video, I'm 99% sure was the illegal breed of prostitute, which isn't relevant to this argument at all.
