How were the Soviets going to take on Japan, though? Without the nukes, Japan would've had a much stronger manpower pool, economy and industry, and with the Soviets just coming out of a massive war with Germany I doubt they would've been able to mount an invasion from the other side of their country.

We didn't know the true power of that bomb, besides we were desperate to end the war. If you arguing that nukes are bad i agree
but the world is not pretty unfortunately. An didn't we pay and help reconstruct those nuked areas as part of war reparations?

Either the Israelis are trowing out some secrets or some lies for war. Those diplomats are going to have a worse time in

To be honest Im kinda of skeptical it was Iran involved in the attacks in Thailand (Thought it was India to be honest) it was more then likely just some rouged organization trying to start something.

Nukes had already been tested about a month before Japan was nuked. If three days is deemed enough time to surrender, a month or several weeks surely is enough time to figure out that using nukes is inhumane. Just saying sorry and giving some money doesn't suddenly take away everything. Of course, Japan fully deserved reparations (even though they themselves had to pay quite a bit for what they did to the Chinese).

And don't say the world isn't pretty. If you really think that, I urge you to visit Iceland or (South-East) Asia.
