I am nice to most people and I have helped plenty of users, been plenty welcoming. However I am not going to put up with shit like that. We explained that ignoring mods is impossible, we addressed the point of that. Nor have we completely just dismissed the possibility of staff crossing the line into breaking the rules. However I can call his bullshit claiming he would have to leave before he lost any more brain cells because of her. I will treat staff reports seriously but I will not treat that seriously, that is not part of the issue, that is just him throwing crap at us and that is what I responded in that manner to.

It's your responsibility to act more mature, forgive and forget. I might also point out that now you're just delving into throwing around "bullshit", "shit" and "crap" because you can't get it through your head that he might have been trying to make a legitimate point. You're just as bad as him if you stoop to his level and insult him. Sure, he may have worded it horribly and insulted a staff member, but his inquiry still remains.

Well, it's what it is. I'm not calling him personally an idiot, or things such as that but I am calling him calling Lucy that bullshit. He made no legitimate point originally, when he did make one we did hear it.

"It's what it is" isn't a good excuse. You aren't calling him an idiot, I see that, but you're telling him to "GTFO", which is no better. His point was that he thinks he should be able to ignore a moderator. While I don't agree with him, you should still have taken his question to heart instead of going all-in and embarrassing yourself like this. I can think of three moderators who have done this recently.

If she had explained why in the first place I'm sure Egypt wouldn't have had the need to make the offensive comment, I can confidently tell you. He's just been antagonized by a mod, came here, and gotten just a "no" in response. I can see that he's feeling defeated by the mods right about now, as am I.

I'm not going to testify on the part of Egypt. What he said was unneeded and offensive, but he certainly wouldn't have said it had it not been for the reception. My only real problem is the "GTFO" comment, though this has branched off into what I think is wrong with moderators currently.

There was nothing wrong with the "reception" before he said that. Nothing we said was even slightly offensive before that in those threads.

Well if he is going to only insult people he should leave. GTFO may have been a little overboard but that's what you get when you mix inappropriate comments with a stressed mod.

I could care less if she is stressed, it shouldn't interfere with her duties as a moderator.

I'm pretty sure receiving just a "no" would be upsetting. Still doesn't justify your comment, which is sad, since you refuse to apologize for it.

It never has interfered with my duties. I do my job as a mod here, I handle staff issues seriously and have never allowed my personal feelings to get in the way of warnings or bans. I apologize for wording it the way that I did.

That's not what Observer just said. Though this might not have been a staff issue, I can imagine it still being a serious one, as it was a First Tier Offense.

Since the edit wasn't caught by that quote, for one I apologize for wording it as strongly as I did. However Observer did not say I was letting my emotions get in the way of warnings or bans. If I was I would have warned him. Insults can only be warned if reported, it wasn't. So it wasn't a staff issue.

that comment went out of it's way to insult Lucy. he could have just asked nicely to see if he could ignore lucy. instead he insults her :?

i don't think insulting women is a nice thing and i hated it when he said that it's a "freak accident that they are a mod"
