    Because Valve likes making good games, and putting nice little touches in them, like the sphere in the first portal that listed the "ingredients" for the cake. I stood five minutes and listened to Wheatley ramble when we was trying to hack the neurotoxin generator thingy.
    Did you find the hidden signing turrets? Not the ones at the end, but they sing the same tune.
    Gotta love people who put real effort into their games.
