    Charlemagne and Napoleon are going to be remembered until time stops.
    How many British, or German leaders can you say that about?

    Its not about Napoleon. He has nothing to do it. You are saying if a army has a foreign commander then he is fighting for his home nation by default. If that were true then the War of 1812 was fought between Englishmen just because some of the American Commanders were English. It makes no sense.

    Its all the feminist conspiracy. But I see your point. Then again, I am an American, not a Brit or a German. But those are still 2 generals, and both were leaders of their country as well, not just a general.

    The war of 1812 was technically fought between Englishmen. But never mind. We have gone off topic enough.

    Eh we got a few, but France has more. Keep in mind that Napoleon's brilliant subordinates will piggy back with him.

    By Americans? Washington, Grant, Eisenhower, Patton, Custer (so sad, I know) and Benedict Arnold.

    Ask the average person, they will only remember Nappy, not Davout or Ney.

    I assure you anyone who knows anything about Napoleon will know about them.

    And John Smith beat Washington by 150 years.
    Now stop pretending that you don't get it.

    I thought we were talking about the average person, not someone who has an actual education.
    It is true.

    No it isn't. Napoleon made a much greater impact on history. America was going to be created without Washington.

    Jesus Christ, I'm not even going to go on, and I'm sure a German could compile a more complete list for Germany than me, so I'll leave it.

    There's more to the world that America.
    Just because a 7 year old American knows who George Washington is, but not Charlemagne, isn't a testament to their relative significance.

    @UtterlyImpeccable
    The only person on that list who would qualify is maybe Queen Victoria

    It seems to be the only way you can be qualified to be remembered in the future is to start a massive war. Is that something to be proud of?
