Again Russia and China Stand By And Watch!

There is over 200 countries in the world and only like 7 are going to get involved and you are pointing at Russia & China??? First of all this is civilwar, where no one should interviene unless one is invited to. Second of all you are making clown of yourself.

What, because China and Russia have an incredibly long history of protecting the freedoms of nations?

Really I'm just glad the Chinese aren't trying to help. They'd be more likely to make Libya a puppet than anyone else.

(In case you haven't noticed, Barack Obama isn't as large of a militerist as George W. Bush. He probably only interviened because of it was an oppertunity to spread democracy and, you know, half of America wanted him to.)

Who's going to take his place in the event of a rebel victory? Libya is divided into tribes and all the governmental institutions are deliberately weak. We may be biting off more than we can chew here, there might even be a 2nd civil war straight after this one, especially as those tribes who benefited from Gaddafi wouldn't take any rebel victory too well.

There's probably some rebel leaders who's names haven't come out yet. Also maybe some ex-Gadaffi military leaders could do it. It doesn't matter to the rest of the world though, so long as it's democratic.

    Libya The Next Iraq???

Operation Odyssey Dawn started today and is the opening phase in an international coalition's support of the Libyan Rebels. Hey I remember what happened last time we helped overthrow a government....... IRAQ WAR, 8 YEARS, AFGHAN WAR, 10 YEARS!!!! Will this happen again or have we gotten smarter???? (yeah right, there is no such thing as americans getting smarter in the middle east)

    Libya The Next Iraq???

A significant difference between the Iraq War/Afghanistan War and Operation Odyssey Dawn is that there will be no ground troops or occupation force involved.

Like corB said its only going to be air and naval activity being done to help the rebels. The US government has also stated they will not participate in any ground attacks and will not be leading this operation.

When Serbia was destroyed? Bosnia is the one who begged for help when the Serbians were killing innocents and sending them to concentration camps. At least Nato decided to bomb them when they started a genocide campaign in Kosovo.
