I seriously doubt he's got anything like that up his sleeve now - more likely mecha-Kim Jong-Il will swoop down and whisk him off to the safety of the DPRK. Everyone knows that the great leader always comes through for Che's mates in the end!

Like I said, it's just time for the world to embrace the Western outlook of Republican or Parlimentary Democracy, free trade, and human rights. There could have been other ways of advancing, but our world has come too far into those tracks to return, so it just has to happen where the developing countries like Libya, or the rest of the people in the Arab spring mold their governments and economies in those ways to keep up with the rest of the world powers. Young men everywhere want Levi jeans and Oakley sunglasses. They'll do anything to get their material goods and ensure that they can afford them. That's how it is in this world. Maybe some day people will realize that we can exist without competition and that we'd be better off just working together as one big family, which is what Socialism should be, but it just won't work today and we'll just have the hack it until then. I realize that a few exceptions such as China and North Korea are still under Communism and Despotism, respectively, but eventually, they'll have to come to the Capitalist side just because people want things, and they want to be able to get things and earn them, too.

That's a pretty simplified way of saying that I was wrong in not making China and North Korea half of my post. It has been proved over and over that communism doesn't work. People in China are literally jumping off buildings to escape their fate. People in North Korea are brainwashed when they can barely feed themselves without having to support the armed forces in one way or another. Republicanism and Parlimentary Democracies are FAAAAR from perfect, but time and time again, they've proved to be just about the best we can do. Communism just doesn't work. People NEED incentives to work. It's cynical, but there's no way around it. To say that everyone is brainwashed after seeing a commercial isn't fair. The US has terrible leaders, so bad that they had banks write their own legislation to get bailed out. It's true that our system isn't working very well under our circumstances, but if we were under a Communistic society, how would it help? It's not perfect, and we're not doing it right, but it's really the best we can do right now. I appologize for using this much space on a thread that's not about it, but I'm trying to answer your almost offensively simplified statement. It's not like the margin to elect someone is often ruled by a few electoral votes, but you have to realize that America wasn't created under a two-party system, but as it is now, it just works that way. It will until some people can grow some balls and make a new party or two.

China and North Korea are communistic in the sense that everyone is ruled by a lifelong despot or oligarchy, make the same wages, and live in the same housing. Marxism is far different. I believe you believe in Marxism, which is a novel idea, but turns into either Soviet or Chinese Communism with a lot of kleptomaniacal tendancies and becomes very crooked. Parlimentary democracy works where people vote on who runs their government. Whoever runs the government picks whomever represents the government.
