    No, this is what happens when little moderator interference is a novelty. If it were the norm, there would be useful discussion combined with meaningless spam. The fact that this thread was made with no purpose other than mindless rule breaking is the cause of its poor state. If we were to organize a topic of some sort, (and assuming someone besides our worth, most useless members would post in it) we could have a genuine discussion free of barriers.
