I still don't see what's so hard about posting your justification for locking a thread. I mean, unless you don't have one. In which case you shouldn't be locking the thread.

Exactly. And since many moderators already do this, it does not harm anything by making them state why.

Its not hard. I agree that mods should post a reason for a lock. But I disagree with the delivery, and I don't think it needs to be a rule.
No, they don't. If they did, Kali would not have been able to open this thread. The mods are pretty fair.

It get's annoying seeing everyone repost the exact same thing for four pages.

Its just not necessary. We need less rules, not more. The mods should be allowed to decided on the spot, using precedent. They shouldn't have to refer to a bureaucratic system of rules.

It harms absolutely nothing to make this a rule. It just clarifies things more.

Clarification is what creates loopholes. The more specific you get, the more rules are needed, the more loopholes are created. Which is why rules should be somewhat vague, but specific enough for us to know what not to do.

People shouldn't think that at all. They should trust the mods that I'll remind you were handpicked by Stalin. Thats as good a reason as any to support them.

Yeah, no offense to Stalin but he specifically said many times that he picked people he trusted to be moderators, not necessarily people who would be good at the job. I think we have some pretty good mods overall, but they can make some... iffy decisions.
