Regardless of that, they expect the resistance to crumple within weeks. Also, in recent elections, there has been a surprising rise in pro-Israel officials. They are calling for one state, for two peoples. Fatah is doing it's best to put down these sentiments, but they continue to grow in popularity. Israel denies any involvement, but the idea seems to appeal to the common man, regardless of origin. This may be a side effect of Israel's recent decision to allow Palestinians to settle in Israel, as the Jews are settling in the West Bank. Israel is also ramping up their military presence on the Lebanon border, after intelligence reports indicate that the Syrians and Lebanese may be planning some kind of joint action. Israel takes a neutral stance for now, but will respond to any aggression with aggression in turn.
