actually no, the red army lost almost twice the number of men as the germans, this was due to their 'mass attack' strategies which cost the russians many men
    German military losses: 5,530,000
    Russian military losses:8,800,000 to 10,700,000

Stalin did not trust Hitler, he trusted the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.

Stalin believed in Hitler to make a benefitcial and stabled friendship between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in other words Stalin trusted Hitler to the max, thus when it came to the invasion of the Soviet Union, Stalin thought it to be a joke, or a little skirmish on the border that shouldn't be taken seriously, and things will be solved in a matter of a few hours between the two countries, but till officially he came into reality that the Germans were invading he broke into shock over it, couldn't believe Hitler back stabbed him.

Stalin couldn't have been so crazy/simple minded that he couldn't have understood that the bolsheviks are national socialists ideological enemies.
Stalin did trust Hitler not to attack while the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was valid, meaning that he trusted Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.
Stalin knew that Hitler was going to attack (meaning he did not trust Hitler), that's why Stalin signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact (to buy himself time).

I love how the tide of the battles changes with the commander simply giving the order to attack.

Well a Nazi victory would happen if Germany conquered Great Britain, then with that done and with North Africa out of the way, conquer the so called "White Russia" making the Soviet Union weaker (but never conquered, since Hitler never wanted to destroy the Soviet Union, but only conquer the territory of the Arkhangelsk-Astrakhan line, and then make peace ). Germany would never declare war on the US and the ãmericans would defeat Japan.

Germany would have her empire in Europe (along with the colonies of the conquered countries) and it would start a Cold War with the US over world domination for the next decades.

A very interesting alternate scenario, which nobody never thougth about. Oh, wait......

if the Nazi's didn't invade the soviet union and focused all of its military on Great Britain Germany would of had a much better chance at winning ww2

Though I often wonder if the German economy could have kept up with the war effort.

If Hitler did win, he would've probably created his Thousand Year Reich out of a massive Eurasian Bloc, spanning from France to Russia. He would've begun purifying the world of those nasty Slavs and other nasty races. He would've created his New Berlin and his nation probably would've exploded with wealth. At least the Germanic areas would have the sheer amount of gain from having a continent and a half under their thumb.

There is the problem of how far Hitler would've gone. He was planning on getting all the way through India, and even creating an Aryan America and Aryan Asia. I think that he would've had the same problem as Alexander the Great and his army would've just stopped moving forward while fighting in the British Raj.

I would say definately; from what I can tell, Albert Speer was able to continue increasing output even with diminishing territory and resources as minister for armaments - some say that he prolonged the war by about a year. It therefore follows that despite the stereotypical image of the Nazis, their economy was far less geared towards war than say, Britain's.

Less territory globally then the British and had to relay heavily on Romania for oil and resources for the war effort.
