well, i think Total war ww1 is as modern as they can go, it was still big companise of men, the machine guns would work kind of like the pickel gun in Empire, but i want to see either a remake of Rome total war, or Renesance or Victorian total war.
Rome 2, has to be. I'm not interested in Oriental warfare, it seems kind of.. uninteresting imo. Give me the large infantry battles in the west, the hit and run tactics of the east and upgrade the game so the original version doesn't have to have a mod book as big as a Charlie Sheen prenup.
I'm almost the opposite, I love samurai and learning about the history of warfare in Japan. Napoleon and Empire Total War were kind of like that for me as I am totally uninterested in them. I still watch Stalin's vids of them anyways cause I'm interested in his commentary. xD I do think that Rome 2 is coming, I'd still like them to return to Asia soon after Shogun cause most of their games have been focused in the west.
What of the total war series ends after shogun. Maybe they're thinking of finishing where they started off you know.
I think they will make Rome total war 2, possibly making it the longest ever campaign, to the rise of the Roman empire to the fall.
i think the next total war should be similar to shogun 2 with the different daimyo but set in china with the rise of the dragon emporer being the primary focus

actually i wanna see a warring states period for china b4 a rome 2 total war because then they could test more of how to get tons for people like in the 10's of thousands for one army. during the warring states period every nation had nearly a millions men at its disposal and rome at its height could only muster half a million themselves
I think a Total War game set in Africa would be interesting,but I can't think of an era in African history that would fit a Total War game. I would love R2TW
I think the next one will be and expo to Shogun, which I hope adds China and Korea into the mix. But after that I think we will see Rome 2.
Renaissance - that is a good idea. However, I think it will be an expansion to Shogun 2. I would really like Rome 2 after that. However, I would really like to see a total war game set entirely in the East, such as India, China, Iran etc. There could be multiple time periods for a game like that.
They could maybe add an African campaign to Napoleon, to coincide with the scramble for Africa period. Factions could include the British, French, Boers, Zulus, Ethiopians, Italians, Ottomans and so forth.
