All Total War games so far have emphasized regimental combat, so I don't think so. Typically we don't use solid regiments on a modern battlefield, as the whole concept of formation warfare has been outmoded by automatic weaponry and accurate artillery (as well as aircraft).
lol this has been mentioned so much, although it might wprk like theatre of war, or not, probably not. anyway, more on topic, next total war i would like to see a victoria total war- i really enjoyed the gunpowder warfare in ETW and NTW. or a remake of Rome(so Rome 2) or a renesance total war.
Medieval II: Kingdoms has a fun (but limited) Crusades campaign. Although I personally prefer sacrificing captured Spaniards (ransom?   ) to the Sun God playing as the Mayans in the Americas campaign. But this was just an expansion. A completely new medieval game with the improved AI with specific focuses as mini-campaigns would be pretty sweet. And a more complete world map like Empires has would also be an improvement to the Grand Campaign. I'd like to see if I could get the Mayans to invade Europe or what would happen if the Chinese didn't go back into isolationism but kept their navy and invaded Europe themselves.
I think the next TW will be Rome Total War 2. But i would like to a see total war game that has a bigger maps because it seems to me that after E:TW the maps were getting smaller and smaller.
Barbarians total war? You get to play through as like Atilla, the Visiogoths, the Vikings or the Mongols at various periods in history
Well there is the Barbarian Invasion Expansion for Rome. I def like the idea of a Mongol total war but you can actually play them in the expansion for Shogun 1. The Vikings you could play in the expansion of Medieval 1. But I would like something better for the Mongols.
Mongol total war would be epic...but I think that it shouldn't be an addon but a focused game. Also...a chinese total war uniting the clans would also be epic.
I agree. A "Total War: Dynasty Warriors" game has serious potential. It's a really cool period of Chinese history that Koei has been tapping into for years. Doing something like the Yellow Turban Rebellion in a Total War style game would be a lot of fun. Yes, Koei has the Empires games in the Dynasty Warriors franchise but they're not nearly as deep, nor the battles as good, as a Total War game would be. Sadly for this idea, I really think that after the requisite expansion to Shogun2 that they'll revisit Rome. But maybe some day we'll see them do this idea. Sooner or later they have to do something original or the franchise will die out. And while there are many periods and cultures they're yet to cover they've got to stick to something people are at least a little familiar with. Courtesy of Koei, China could be it.
dont bother, people on these forums dont read the whole thread once its over 5 pages, fair enough really.
Dynasty: Total War Mainly Asian themed Total War center around China during late 16th to early 20th century. OR Trench: Total War World War I themed Total War center around Europe.
Americas: Total War You play as one of the native Indian tribes, then at the end of the game the European Powers arrive. That would be cool.
expansion to ETW lets you play as Native Americans, as well as Medieval 2 kingdoms you can play as aztecs
Clowns are evil. The game would possess your computer and steal all of your cookies when you weren't looking. It would also let the clowns know exactly what you were doing whenever you were home.
the artilery would be pie cannons, the infantry would be big feet clowns the archers would pie throwers the cavalry would be the ... i don't know. the elite infantry would be the evil clowns who scare the sh*t out of you.
Maybe they wouldn't have cavalry as such but instead have mechanized infantry in the form of clown cars?
