Hey, how about we do nothing and let the market work it out for us?

I mean I know you guys are half Communists and all, but we don't even have to think about it and we'll get energy 10x more effective than any government run crap.

I hope you do know that these nuclear plants at least here were all built by the government.

And they'd be bigger, better, and more efficient if they were built by companies.

No they would build them to maximize profit not to help surrounding areas.

Facilities with such high risks as nuclear plants should probably be funded and constructed by the government, although companies could do it if there are very, very strict regulations for them.

And our electricity consumption is so high you can't really rely on pure green energy right now. The technology will probably be good enough for it some day, but not right now. We need another durable power source to buy time for the green energy to develop.

Yes, and you probably get maximized profits from helping surrounding areas.

Not to mention, they wouldn't jump straight to nuclear.
They'd probably use oil and coal until it got cost efficient to use Green Power and they'd develop that and blah blah blah.

Why use oil and coal it just pollutes while you could use nuclear and create lots of relatively clean power.

Well here in America our Nuke Plants are privatized. But there are so few of them because they are expensive and energy companies are greedy, as well as the media painting a picture of those evil, unreliable nuke plants that the terrorists are gonna use to destroy your home and family in a nuclear fireball.

Yeah, let private companies build nuclear power plants, what's the worst that could happen? >_>

Why oil and coal plants are some of the largest producers of airborne pollutants.

It's not that they're greedy, it's that every time they try to build them the entire country is up in arms about it. Apparently every private Nuclear Powerplant will be like the Simpsons or their minds will explode with the sheer absurdaty.

You can't make a nuclear weapon from any old Nuclear Powerplant, LK.
You need all sorts of things to enrich the Uranium and blah blah blah.

No it's because they want the plants working for the interests of the public not a private company.

If you don't know the less pollutants the better preferably none at all nuclear is cleaner and produces more energy so why would you use coal and oil it's dirtier and produces less energy.

They're not really working for the intrests of the public, they're working for the public's votes.

Private companies work for themselves, and in case you havn't noticed bathing your country in radiation kind of destroys your company. So they wont do that.

    Cost efficiency.

The only reason Uranium is more cost effective is because most major energy consumers don't need it. If everyone in the world demanded Uranium like they demand Oil it would just be the same deal only for a radioactive material that cost more.

If you haven't realized companies try to maximize profits so for things like waste they would probably neglect to build proper facilities and instead ship to Africa or some other country where it's cheaper.
