They haven't made any solid demands yet from what I've heard.

Protesting change? You mean advocating change? Not even advocating change really, just demanding that the financial institutions be held accountable for running our economy into the ground with their reckless gambling and that we assure they can never do it again.

    [spoiler:3fgvxb72]As explained by Mr, Grayson.

    [yt:3fgvxb72]Nvev6BBXIlM[/yt:3fgvxb72][/spoiler:3fgvxb72]

But hey, if you wanna just stoop to name calling, label them all hippies, and continue on as an enabler. Fine by me.

Whats going to happen are they are going to upset everyone working there. They will be asked to move and then arrested (which is what they want) then others will start to rise up the protest will be hijacked by Londoners wanting some fun.

Yes, obviously that one homeless man represents all the protesters.
Lol, yes they are I don't understand why you find this hard to understand. Let me get this straight, you believe that the protesters are the uber-rich 1%?
    Yawn, ad hominem
Care to explain how Obama caused a depression that began before he was President?
That ends my response to crocve.
Now, to the people who complain about the protesters not having any specific demands:
The point isn't for them to demand something specific. They just believe that someone needs to raise their voice at the Governments failures to fix our economic problems. Do you think it would be better for them to not do anything. The people who criticize the protesters for and minor violence clearly have a case of cognitive dissonance going on. Remember the London riots a couple months ago? The Greek riots? The riots in Rome right now? When's the last time Americans did that? If you have the audacity to call American protesters violent then you are very sheltered.

I'm criticizing the American protesters for not being violent enough. It's just not exciting to watch otherwise.

Occupy Taipei 101 was fail. Out of the 1000 that were suppose to show up, only 300 came. It ended up more like a farce then an actual protest.

I seriously doubt that any of the Far Eastern Asian countries will be having this problem any time soon.
    This is a Western thing.

Taiwan has been in economic decline since 2000, obviously there are angry people. But they don't have the ideology or the resolve to back it up. There is literally no leftist movement of any visible size, yet you see far right parties showing up every couple of years. Plus I don't think the people here have any idea of what they want, other than a slogan. That's why I consider Occupy Taipei 101 a little more than a joke

If the iddy bitty wayward child ever needs help with its economic boo-boos, the mainland will always be glad to take them back, no matter how ungrateful they are. Or you can go running back to the U.S.

Come on! It can't be all that bad to be an autonomous province of the mainland! Look at Hong Kong!

Besides, the Far Easterners don't generally like instability and the overthrow of the governement tends to cause instability.

But all of that is just my two sense.

Fair enough. If you want to be like Japan was, fine with me.

Still makes me sad that there is such a political disagreement that it would divide our ethicity so.

The CCP I could care less for.

It's like the old Chinese saying: ????????????????We're happy to choose that alternate, rather than China's.

But I can respect you for believing in what you think is right.

It is my understanding that most of them want independence and to settle with just Taiwan, but the PRC has threatened war if they move any further away from integration.

Speaking honestly, I never learned to read the language. And Bing translator sucks.

I still stand by the belief in unification. Under which government means little to me, provided that the people are content.

And your pain is your own. You threaten China as much as they threaten you. In psychological more than physical, but the threat is still there. You have created an ethnic divide, where China usually has political ones. That is why I dislike Taiwan. You breed a divide that could shatter the cultural unity of the people. That has shattered the cultural unity of the people. That is what pains me.

    @ Lenin Cat
China is China. The government is divided across the strait, but as far as I am concerned, the land of China belongs to the Chinese.

    Note: The Mongolians are Chinese.

    @ The Shaw
China went down the road of letting go of their children before. And it was a painful one. One that still pains them today.

Down with capitalism? Does that mean communism and joining the people's republic?
