Yeah, but I got the first one on June 16, so both will have worn off by August 16th.

As long as Link doesn't get any more warnings he should be good.

When the fuck did anyone ask for this? We wanted less strict rules. We wanted to let banned members run so Kara could, but then you shove this up our ass. Tribunes, can you tell me where are the users who asked for this?

There was an overwealming support for more leniency in rules, not less. Between Link, Demondaze, and Ler there was about 60 votes. Between Ronald there was about 25 and Jayjay there was about 30.

I doubt Ler would approve of this knowing the implications, either he did not and only Ronald did, or he did not understand what he was signing.

While the rule on its own is fine, it must be supplimented with the removal of the 'banned members can't run' rule.

Also this still does not solve the problem that I can't run because I was banned for double posting like 3 months+ ago. Even though most double posting is accidental. No one double posts simply to piss people off.

This rule doesn't really affect me, but what Link said is true. It's a little early to be breaking campaign promises guys.

I'm not sure if I should go into the details (we haven't discussed on how transparent the process should be yet), but let's just say it was unanimous.

It's a good rule and everybody recognized it as such, why would someone who is one step away from being banned be allowed to take a position of power?
If someone wants to be a candidate they should at least be a good forum citizen with a clean slate.

Warning points go away on their own and they can be appealed. It's very easy to be just a little careful and not be affected by this and the only people who will be affected are people who simply don't give a crap.

Ler didn't brake any campaign promise and I didn't either, you can still message me or make a new thread proposing stuff.

This will promote good behavior, will make people more inclined to follow the rules. Warnings can be appealed and they do go away. It's not permanently locking anyone out of office, but it is making it harder for active rule breakers to gain positions.

Seriously, it's a rock solid rule and it will only make the forums better

Like I said, it's a good rule on its own.

But because this is cupped with the 'no one banned can run' rule all it does is make it harder for a new canadate to become a canadate and easier for an existing canadate to stay a canadate.
Basiclly, unless the banned rule is rolled back or removed it only makes things even strickter around here.

If it was rock solid, why do only mods and you suppot it? Everyone else either hates it or is Mehing it.

We all discussed it and he thought it was reasonable and supported it.
Relax, we'll most likely do something about that soon anyway.

IMO it shouldn't be a banning that prohibits you for running, it should be being a known trouble maker. Someone who has shown complete disrespect for the rules on multiple occasions.

I think I'll propose a time limit after the ban (four or six months or something) to go together with the active warning thing.

Being banned and getting warned often kinda indicates being a trouble maker. It wouldn't be wise to just leave it to opinion, it's better to have some sort of set prerequisites.
