Ive been in an argument for forever with my friends, trying to convince them that PC games are not dead, and are actually just as good (if u can support them) as console games. They always make fun of me cuz i dont have a PS3 or an XBOX, and I only play computer games which they insist nobody plays. So, are console games better? Which do u prefer? And if anybody knows how many people play PC games worldwide plz post. Im interested in everyones opinions. obviously I prefer pc games
It really comes down to what type of game you're playing. RTS games are always better on PC since consoles don't have enough inputs to make them work very well. Halo Wars did a passable job of it on the 360 but it's still not as good as a PC strategy game for control. Racing games tend to be better on consoles, especially with analog controls. And FPS games can go either way. Mouse aiming is better than analog aiming but controllers are easier to deal with than mouse & keyboard. MMORPG is also best on PC, for much the same reasons that RTS games are. And then there's community. If you like to play online you have to play where everyone else is playing. Some games have huge communities on both platforms but many are specific to either PC or console. I play both PC and console. Since my PC is out of date I only use it for RTS gaming. Nothing all that current, either. And my 360 gets my frag fest and racing business. Even after I upgrade that'll remain true except the RTS titles will come up to current and I'll get back into an MMORPG. Ultimately your friends aren't very bright if they think PC gaming is dead. World of Warcraft alone has millions who play it. The Total War series is very much alive on PC as are most RTS games. And even the FPS genre is well represented on PC. They're probably just jealous cause they're still running Windows98 and have dial up so they can't play on PC.
Your friends are idiots. Probably have some shitty laptop. And who plays consoles anyway? Real gamers buy PC; Games look much better & you often have acces to mods. Invest in badass PC, Bigass screen, Kickass headset & optionaly gamepad. Man you wont tuch consoles ever again =DD
PCs are more powerful, I can't imagine playing New Vegas without mods, and no Minecraft. Also I can't use a controller to do anything.
I think consoles are the reasons why gaming graphics hasn't improve much in the pass five years, then again I can be wrong. Of course, gaming not all about graphics. But it's satisfying to see the game you're playing in fine detail.
I remember playing FIFA games on pc's, and when I played it on a console once (at a friend's place), I kept running the ball over the lines because I pressed the analogue stick down a millimetre... No, but really, I prefer PC over consoles. There's more room for controls customisation, the mouse is a huge advantage, and for racing games, you have steering wheels (although arrow keys do fine for me, I'd still like something that allows me to not go full-throttle all the time)
My computer can play at 1080p with all the highest settings and no lag. It's New Vegas and Fallout 3 that lag don't know why.
With New Vegas I wouldn't be surprised if it was the game. Seriously as fun as that game is it has many, many issues.
I have a Ps3 and an Xbox 360. One has been turned into a netflix player and the xbox is collecting dust. None of my friends play anything aside from PC games. Steam makes it too easy and affordable NOT to have the PC be my main gaming platform.
pc for general gaming, but the lack of splitscreen means its console first with friends. Only real use for my wii tbh
I like both to be honest. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are basically trying-to-be-pc-consoles, so I can easily replace them with my PC. But with consoles such as the older Playstation consoles or the Wii.
Guess so, but I prefer going downstairs and sit in the couch and play on a big tv-screen with some friends.
