Wow, like we would really remove one of the biggest sections on the forums.

It was one of the first times I was on the forums, and I wrote a post apologizing about my bad grammar because of it (during a soviet post) then stopped giving a shit and kept making mistakes.

The thread is useless currently, it shouldn't be removed, but replaced with what many people are agreeing with "Multilingual" section. It would be really great to see everyone speak in their native languages and possibly "learn" them.

This idea does make sense, although it would mostly boil down to the majority of us using Google translate or something like that.

But seeing a casual conversation between the dutch users would help engage people to start learning the language.
Google translate would help, but its unreliable with sentences.

They would learn learn how to say the phrases. Beneficial to the whole community. Plus, language classes suck when you have no one to talk to who know it.

You do have a point, but its best we teach the grammar rules. Like for example in German Wilhelm the W is said with a V.

Err... How come I don't know that? But seriously, though. That's not true. That's a stereotype.

However, Dutch pronouncing is pretty different, but more consequent, in my opinion.
The "a" is always pronounced as in "adjust" or "car", never as in "parent".
The "i" is almost always pronounced as in "illusion", mostly not as in "ice".
For the "i", we have three alternatives: "ei", "ij" and "y".
The "g" is almost always pronounced as in "goeiedag", like this guys says it:

I could go on, but I'm too lazy.

Why should you have to Google Suriname? He says it at the beginning of the video.

As a person of the non natiev english speaking users, i really like the idea of everyone learning different languages, so insted of removing the thread, we should do just like what TheKoreanPoet said. Heck you might iven learn swedish. Det är min idea.

I support the reform into a multilingual section of the forum.

To elaborate on a possible structure, we take the non-English languages with a significant number of users and give each of the a sub-section under the Multilingual section, then give a generic section for all other languages.

Ideally, willing members can post short lessons on grammar, syntax and pronunciation and possibly more advanced lessons with time.
    Native speakers can spur conversation.
As well this could provide more effective outlets for non-English, and poor-English speakers to be a part of the community.

Maybe all other languages would be a bit too much (there are thousands), but the requested ones would be fine.

I am fine with a multi-cultural forum but considering that there are 4 threads in there its pretty useless you must admit.
