I think I detest 'red culture' more than anything else about communism.

It's aqueous, so it's hard to pin down, but it's basically what the subject of this thread is. Culture of the Soviet Union, other 'communist states,' organizations like the IWW, and independent pinkos. All this hammer and sickle garbage, idolizing hard work and praising labor. It's aesthetically annoying and ideologically detestable, especially since so many so-called 'libertarian socialists' still cling to the symbols and culture of totalitarian dictatorships.

Well they do represent the industrial and agricultural proletariat, nothing wrong with clinging to a symbol even if the people who used it where totalitarian dictatorships. but perhaps a new symbol is needed.

For all the nations of the world have done wrong, do they change their flags?
For all that the religions have done wrong, have they ever knelt?
For all that happened under a likeness, has Buddhism changed its symbol?

Nor should they be expected to. and besides it would just come down to "yeah we may have committed mass genocide but we changed our flag"

No competiton is better for the people.
In the Cold War times of europe the eastern communist nations didn't have much resources to work with so they just gave the people the basic. What's wrong with that? The product did what it needed to do.
There was no race between companies becouse of this.

Oh and Trabants did what they needed to do:cheap, compact vehicle for short and long transportation.

But it was shit quality and the products weren't consistent. You go to the store to buy an iron and they are selling lamps, so you buy the lamp instead.

Shit quality?Okay the GDR made fridges that haven't been broken since they were put together in the 80's,
Also lightbulbs that lasted for years not like the ones in the west, and many things were produced to last for shitload of time so the consumers dosen't need to buy new ones every week or so.

The consistency problem you are talking about is not really good of a debate. If you walk into a store only selling lamps why are you expecting to find irons?
There were normal department stores in former communist nations where there were thousands of products to buy just like now.

Red culture why not Blue culture.

"I am capitalist and I know better because I am a capitalist"

Blue/capitalist culture would be a way too broad topic if it would be a topic about the culture of capitalist countries.

    Try this instead...

Who should be eliminated, not glorified.
Maybe if the symbol actually had some value, either aesthetically or ideologically. The hammer and sickle are tools of the 19th century working poor, not the future.

Hey to each there own, if one wants to glorify the worker in there symbolism then by all means sure why not, its served its purpose and is still universally recognized today although a new one could be a nice change of pace.

The Hungarians did a half-way decent job with their communist art.

I'm sorry, but even as a Communist, I would complain about how **** hard that must be to read.
You can promote it, I have no problem with that, but THAT is just... over-doing it.
It'd be like the US government mandating giant faded pictures of bald eagles on everything. It makes no sense.

Actually I think most Americans would approve of the new faded pictures of bald eagles on everything law.
