Bit of a late reply, but I was sleeping while you had this sacrificing party goin' on...I wish I could make it.

Anyway, it's more atheist because the person you describe demands proof for everything and struts around screaming to everyone that they're wrong because there's no evidence.

Agnostics generally claim that it's impossible to know (certain) deities exist. They're not asking for evidence, as they believe it's impossible to know for sure anyway, and don't bother with "evidence", as there is none, not to prove or disprove deities.

I don't have time to read pg 17 and pg 18 so this was probably addressed already but whatevs.

I would doubt most agnostics label themselves as agnostics because they just don't give a shit.
Yes. Why should the church get everything you own? They don't even fucking pay taxes for crying out loud.

No, there isn't. Why shouldn't you give your money to a noteworthy cause? They don't want EVERYTHING. Plus they mainly give it to charities.

I'd rather give my money to the charity I want it to go to, then give it to an organization that gives it to charities that support causes I do not. What if I want to give my money to a charity that gives out condoms for Africans? I know that the church would never give to that charity.

You're engaging in a patently stupid argument. No one has said 'don't give to charities'. If you want to give your money to a charity, then do it.

I know, I was just telling him why I would rather give to a charity other than the church.

I don't see any harm in giving money to the St. Vincent De Paul society. I understand what you are trying to say, but you can't find a lot of charities in a small town like Lima, so rather than go to Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, etc. I choose to give it to the Church which handles the money well and gives it to Haitian orginizations, St. Vincent De Paul society, Soup Kitchen, etc.
