I think that to God 6 days would be like billions of years to us. BTW how did he murder millions of people? The flood that you don't believe in, or did he just smite them?
Sorry, I have to. You just set yourself up soooooooooooooo well. "I guess that means the bible is literally useless!" ZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Don't nail me to a cross pls.
Not really. You still didn't answer my question, but instead you deflected it by making fun of me. Besides the bible speaks in metaphors a lot of the time. It shows how we should live our life, its not How To Get To Heaven 101.
People walking over water and splitting seas sounds pretty metaphoric to me. Also, Adam and Eve being the only and first humans...incest anyone?
Of course there was incest in the beginning. >.> If you only start out with a handful of people there has to be.
Well, if I my understanding of evolution is correct, there weren't just a single man and woman that were human. I'm not saying there wasn't any incest with the early humans, it's just that I can't imagine all of mankind having the exact same two ancestors.
Doesn't matter, any way you look at it I have to think there was some family lovin' going on in the beginning.
Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised either. However, if you'd take the Bible literally (I know, we shouldn't), God made only two humans and told them to reproduce, thus supporting incest.
Acording to wikipedia (yeah I know, sorry for the source =p), breeding between two individuals with same direct ancestor have a high chance of producing an ofspring with: Reduced fertility both in litter size and sperm viability Increased genetic disorders Fluctuating facial asymmetry Lower birth rate Higher infant mortality Slower growth rate Smaller adult size Loss of immune system function series of incestual relationships would be really bad for the kids, aparently...
Adam and Eve may have been the first, but nowhere in the Bible does it say that they were the only ones around.
I never read the Bible myself, but I don't think it mentions any others as well. Again, it's very vague, so it's most likely another metaphorical thing.
