He is a smart guy that sometime because of his reputation gets ahead of himself And he knows once someone Just a tiny bit Corrects him he is Doomed Or his image will be Destroyed. I feel for the guy He is slowly dieing and he lives to learn. He is smart but sometimes People put people like him on pedistools and it tends to destroy the very character and soul of the person. after all he is just a man.

I am an Agnostic but I can respect peoples beliefs not to challenge them. I am not full blown atheist but i like learning about history and the bible tells a couple of stories of truth in history. so i am Agnostic I don't bother with religion too much but it is not one of my Least favorite subjects either.

I am not above talking about death or Morality my Most hated discussion would be about putting people on pedistools just so we can tear them down.

I agree. Though the after panel from that special I mentioned was good, except that they only got a good 15 minutes of discussion. The other 30 minutes where commercials.

To be honest I think the shows producers might have done it on purpose.

I'm agnostic really, and I respect the beliefs of others, but I need to ask a question to the theists here. How do you make the jump to believing in God? I like science, it tells me how the world around me works, we can measure it, we have evidence. But, the belief in God puzzles me, there's no science or evidence behind it, the entire belief system is based on ancient texts. I mean no disrespect, I'm genuinely curious. To put this in context, I've read the majority of the Koran, and much of the Bible, but I've never believed in the existence of a deity, and I've attended one religious service in my entire life.

Science doesn't have the answer to everything at the moment. As well, science doesn't disprove a creator or an afterlife.

If God wanted man to be mindless slaves who would bow down to him whenever he wanted to, He wouldn't have given man a free will. Heck, it's probably His own fault people don't believe in Him.

I find the existence of a deity highly unlikely, but if one day, he, she or they randomly appear in front of me and can prove they're indeed god(s), I'll believe them. I still won't thank them for every single random thing there is in this world, or for every meal. Might as well thank the farmers and all for that.
Also, if there is/are (a) deity/deities, I'd think they would take more of a "hands off game" approach, where they'd just create the universe and see how it'd play out, instead of making everything, including life and all and intervening in random ways. Seriously, I'd get pretty annoyed at all those people asking for stuff if I were a god. Then again, I'd make for a terrible god, seeing as I'm incredibly lazy.
