Vice City is my favourite GTA game, with IV coming second and San Andreas in third. To be honest I kind of feel it is too soon to have another Miami based game. A new area would be ideal, and preferably one not in the US. I have heard there are other places than America so I think it could be worth a pop.
San Andreas was the only GTA game I remember where you can fly planes n' shit in, from miniscule to fuckin' gigantic, it was awesome. one of the helicopters I remember in it was a tiny little metal framed, glass panel helicopter that could land on water regardless of how fast you flew into it, it also had machineguns  so fun... I still have it for PS2.
Where's the most boring place in the US? They should do it there. Maybe San Andreas is more likely than VC though. I don't mind too much - when has there ever been a truly rubbish GTA?
Obviously it should be in my hometown on Minneapolis, Most crime ridden city in the greater Twins City area.
Sir, your username has inspired me to watch the No Offense special on YouTube... I think you know what I mean.
I predict that it will be set in a near full representation of Los Angeles. I know they went there in San Andreas with Los Santos, but that was only a very loose, small, and undetailed reproduction. We will see much less dummy stores and more interior places to explore, though it will probably still be called Los Santos. Expect it to be full of colorful, memorable and funny characters, all of which will utilize the MotionScan technology seen in LA Noire for their pformances. I'm also predicting it to be filled with references to the Global Financial Crisis and Justin Bieber/Lady Gaga. Also, it's easy to forget that by the time this game comes out, the gap between it and the previous GTA game will be greater than it ever has been, assuming a late 2012 release, which is most likely. It would not be too outlandish to suggest that the jump in fidelity of the game world will be as big as it was between GTA III and San Andreas, or even San Andreas and IV.
I thought it was funny when GTA IV had a lot of references on the New World Order (NWO) and the All Seeing Eye. The only way i knew about that was when i went into the internet cafe and access the internet, which makes sense when you find rhetoric like that on the internet. Also, there is a radio station that talks about it too, but again i just think the creators of the game are taking the piss or something. I was reading a article about GTA 5 and the 5 logo could be a reference to the Global Financial Crisis. The article perhaps links the 5 logo with the Global Financial Crisis, wouldn't be a bad guess in my opinion. I really wouldn't mind going back to Los Santos again since GTA San Andreas was probably the best GTA i've ever played in the whole series. However i reckon it's going to be a little different, i mean the times have moved forward and your most likely going to see something new in the city. Out of curiosity, if Los Santos is in the game, then i must wonder to myself will you end meeting the main character from GTA San Andreas. That would be awesome!
It's just my hunch, though I will look damn smart if I'm right! But if I am, and we do meet CJ, he would have to be older wouldn't he? San Andreas was set in 1992, and if we assume CJ was in his mid twenties, he would be in his forties in GTA V. All will (hopefully) be revealed in one and a half hours...
I WAS RIGHT!!!! It's modern day Los Santos (Los Angeles)!!! It looks like GTA:SA and GTA IV had a love child that has even better graphics Everything was bright and colorful, no more of that greyness in GTA IV seems to be the same engine as GTA IV but much improved, the models for everything looked very detailed, shadows were better, reflections were much improved You play a washed up Caucasian male in his later thirties/early forties who's trying to give up the criminal life and moved to Los Santos to get away and start a family, but he keeps getting drawn back It looks like we'll be traversing the surrounding hills, countryside and vineyards as well as the urban area, which has a nice contrast of rich elite places and the more lower class, "ghetto" areas notable landmarks return such as the vinewood sign, some skyscrapers i cant remember the names of, Santa Maria Beach and Verona Beach (and i think the pier where you drive someone off in san andreas)
