Well other than ones I've already mentioned I would like to see these changes to Rome 2. However I don't think naval battles would be that fun since it was just ram into one another and see who thinks eachother first. Other changes I'd like see would be able play as certain nations at certain periods of time. Like playing as Carthage during the Second Punic War or Egypt during the Final Roman Civil War.
I agree. Naval battles should be included though, so you have a chance at making your own destiny in naval battles instead of relying on the auto resolve.
Well I don't know a dam thing about game design except for making crappy 2d Icons, but the total war game's have never been 100 percent historically accurate especially when people are playing. I mean for example did the Greek city states ever become one empire and take over Europe ? I could see cities being founded as events. like for example if X city is founded in a territory that is owned by X nation that city form's under their control Or we could just cut it out completely and say that one city in that area control's the region. empires dying on the other hand would strictly be based on the game, I have had Empire game's where the Maratha confederacy get's crushed and the Mughal's manage to survive, somehow.
well its a video game first a histroy guide last. And honestly I think it was better Greece was united instead of a series of small city-states.
This has actually given me an idea. Instead of Rome being the one divided up and Greece as a unified country. Its the other way around. Rome is one faction and Greece is divided up. Say Athens, Sparta, and Macedon
That's one thing I didn't like about R:TW (Biggest complaint being retarded AI). I know they're just wooden ships can have to rely on boarding and ramming other ships for combat, but it still would be preferable to control them. It'd make naval superiority much easier.
Civilization Total War (as I imagine it would be called), would require such a powerful computer and engine that nothing under a 2000 dollar specialized gaming computer could run it. Plus, it would take a completely new engine and massive research to make it even a tiny bit realistic. It is completely unfeasible, and would probably run CA right into the ground if they tried to do it.
There is a mod I believe that allows naval battles but I think its completely unstable at the moment, that or its not released yet. Search the totalwarcenter forums if you wanna find out bout it.
If they were to divide Greece up it would probably just be Athens and Sparta, maybe Thrace or Thebes, but other than that I can't see it They'd have to enlargen the map quite a bit to make it not seem crowded.
One of the major complaints was them not adding epirus. They can simply do what EB did and make the koinon hellenon alliance for athens and sparta. Kingdom of syracuse wouldnt be hard. They could easily make the map just as detailed as EB, and since they have no factions limit, they could make all the "rebel" factions city states and small barbarian nations.
Definitely worth a try. It's as hsitorically accurate as you can get on the RTW engine and still just as fun.
