....The Diadochi were the generals who fought over Alexander's empire after his death. (Seleucus, Antigonus, Antiater, Eumenes, Ptolemy, Perdiccas, etc.). They formed the hellenistic empires like the Seleucid Empire, Ptolemaic Empire, Antigonus macedonia, pontus, bactria, epirus, etc.
    True, true.
Its set in the same time period and virtually in the same area, considering the Mongols made it all the way to freaking hungary.

Oh so thats who those guys were referred to as. I think that while cool it would make better expansion than an actual total war game

A Mongol Total War would be set in Central and East Asia, the Middle East, and Russia. Not Europe. Not many of the Mongol conquests actually happened in Europe. Hungary would be at the western edge of the map. Therefore it would not be virtually in the same area. Furthermore, the time period would be the same yes, but what does that matter? The time period of Shogun 2 FOTS was virtually the same as Napoleon, but that doesn't mean FOTS could be considered Napoleon 2. Besides that, a Mongol Total War would need a bunch of new units, new factions, new diplomacy, a horde system, etc. It would not be a Medieval 3 Total War.

First of all, Fall of the Samurai was a full 50 years after Napoleon. Weapons had improved, their were more and better rifles, machine guns, ironclads, etc.

And Mongol Total War would be a full one hundred to two hundred years after Medieval 2. The setting would have changed, along with tactics, weapons, more emphasis on cavalry, more arrow troops, different seiges, etc.

Besides the Mongols, some Chinese kingdoms, and the Hungary what kind of factions would you want in a Mongol: Total War

The Mongol factions would be split up into several different ones as they historically were. And then there is Russia, Poland, some Central Asian tribes, and some Middle Eastern nations. That's plenty of factions.

I meant the start date, of course. And it would end much later. The rest of my points still stand. And I'm pretty sure Medieval 2 ended in the 1400s....

But...but...they always announce it in November. This is not better but worse. That means they are taking even less time to develop the game than they usually do. I have a bad feeling about this.

maybe this means they just have enough footage done to make a teaser-trailer, since that's all they're showing and it will be finised sometime around November. Also they anounced they were already making this game during the production of Shogun so it's been in production for a while by now

If they release this by November, then I can safely say this will be just as buggy as Empire. The total war games that came out after empire were all released in February of March, of the after the prrevious game was released. If they release this 5 months after FOTS, it will almost surely be very buggy. I guess Empire 2 is gonna be like Empire 1.

Now the worst possible thing that can happen is that they surprise us, have it be Rome Total War 2 and release it in November. If they do that, I won't even bother buying it.

At the earliest, when they usually release. Which would be in March. I know they have probably been working on it since Shogun, but we also have to remember they worked on Empire for a few years, and it was the buggiest game on the planet when it was released.
