The Ranger that blocked the bullets was already dead when the medics used him as a shield. Also, I'm sure that medics stopped and helped wounded soldiers on the beach, after all it's what they do, if they ran by someone wounded say in a urban combat setting then they wouldn't pass training because they had to help the person one way or another. Take the scene from Band of Brothers So your telling me that it's better to leave wounded people to die on the battlefield, even in operation overlord? Wow dude you have your morals messed up. Even Reagen would have to agree with me on that one Moving on: Personally my favorite scene in that film is when Captain Miller is telling his story about what he used to do before he joined the rangers, it made his character in my mind hit home with the audience that soldiers arn't just killing machines. It was a really touching scene, it's the scene after they bury Wade and the german prisoner is sent off, and I forget his name wants to leave and forget the mission when Miller steps in with his story. The saddest scene was when Captain Miller was dying. The only thing that I would have changed would be the sniper not dying
Standard army doctrine is to eliminate the threat and have the casualty administer self aid rather then risk another soldier while there is still an engagement going on. This is illustrated in Ryan when the sniper gets Vin Disel, and in Black Hawk Down when Blackburn get's shot in the leg for going back for a wounded comrade.
Agreed. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if on the beaches people were using whatever they could as cover. Had to have been a traumatizing experience
WHAT THE FUCKING HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! FUCK NO! How dare anyone have such a narrow mind on war movies. I am not only angry about what has be writen at the top of this page I am appaulled that someone would even think of making their own topic about this bullshit film. Firstly Tom Hanks and steve spielbreg both say that the film is shit and it was only a way to see how band of brothers would eventually work and take what was good (the first 15 minates) and get rid of the bad (the rest of the film) secondly this pisses me off something shocking becouse all hollywood war movies and just war movies films made in the west in general are shit they just arnt relistic or ture to the really story and again saving private ryan comes from a story about a guy called fritz nieland whos three brothers were killed and it wasn't some epic bullshit story the only thing that is true in the film is the bit with the people in the office relising that the 3 brothers died and there was one more brother alive that was the only true thing from that film. the real story was really just the relized radio to england they radioed the to france then radioed nielands sqaud out side carantan and he went home no epic lies at all just simple radio convorstions. lastly watch some foreign flim and youll be fuckin amazed by there war movies exspecially asian and russian. Like assembly, brotherhood and days of glory. So slap yourself in the face sit down ath your computer and amazon the shit out of war movies
:L Sorry it got out of hand I just really hate that movie and movies i think are the most important mediam that a message can be put through and it shouldn't just be used to make bullshit with
ano it sucks like I just can't watch those films like fuckin twilight were you can clearly tell that the woman that made them was having some innerconflect about if she had a bigger sexual fetish for werewolves or vampires and the you can tell werewolves won becouse she made that riding hood movie.
Yeah I wish Jackson didnt die either. Only what two of the original people survived? I tihnk Jackson deserved to survive     But...How?
thats a lie and you know it my great granddad was there he was scared for life he was a squad leader and when the door dropped he was the only one left he tried to help them but it didn't work he used to shout "my boys" in his sleep.
yea exactly I agree man. these people had trained togather for over a year for that operation and all of them would have grown very close and if one of them seen another injured on the ground of course they would have helpped. grantted they were probly instructed not to coz they would die but im sure many helpped others and im sure some of them are still alive to this day
They won because of the little squads the two or three man groups that stuck together fighting side by side helping each other. So yes they did help each other out
yes especially on Omaha were the actuly heads of the army didn't believe that they would ever be able to capture the beach and thought all their soldiers would be killed and they still sent them in. friends fighting with friends is the only thing that helpped them stay alive.
yeah Omaha got hit the hardest. That was like hell on Earth. THe other beaches were a cakewalk compared to Omaha
