It's great to go to private school and Warburg. If you get A's you will get into a great college (My choice being Ohio State or Harvard) but if you get C's you won't get into a great college (Community College). It is fair when you think of it because some of the Public Schools Fucking Rock. Sly the only reason you didn't like it is because you are an atheist.

It had nothing to do with my beliefs. Most of the teachers were teaching 3-4 classes because they did not have enough staff. And we had a school of 600 kids. That was smaller than my middle school.

edit: Not to mention I knew NOBODY and am not good at making friends in person.

Well same with us but we still do great and our high school is getting kicked out of our conference in sports because we are too good. I can give a picture on the average test scores for our school.

Also I was put in Algebra for the second year in a row (after getting straight A's in it in 8th grade), because they did not have enough staff to add another person to the Honors Algebra or Modern Geometry class. That was actually what convinced my mom to get me out of it.

edit: And we had to wear uniforms.

Umm...not really sure what you are asking here. Could you rephrase? But, if you are asking what I think you are asking, no. Since Church and State are separate the schools get no funding from the State.

Here the Catholic school boards have funding from the government. Lately they have threatened to cut their funding because the Catholic school board won't allow gay straight alliance clubs. The most recent one though they threatened to pull funding because they wouldn't allow students to wear kilts.

Public schools don't fail to teach material. Kids are lazy dumbfucks who don't want to succeed. Social mobility is there if you want to work for it, but the overwhelming majority is content with being a bunch of illiterate punks.

This is true. I have many friends that would be considered "jocks" by some of you, and a lot of them are actually very smart, but they think(incorrectly) that they would have to stop being who they are (the tough guys) if they actually acted smart, and start being, well, not tough guys(nerds/fags/you people). It's kind of sad, but there are still a majority of people who do care, and not all of them are awkward and weird, contrary to what you may find on say, an internet forum.

I go to a catholic highschool, its not too bad, the worst part is the uniform but it is of better quality then if I went to the public school where I live. I have friends that go there and from what they have told me it's very easy.

Are private schools full of snobby rich kids and geniuses?

Not many rich kids but there are some pretty smart people, my schools decent but most of the rich kids around here go to the really good private schools like Malvern or St. Joes Prep.

Nope. Church is here<--------and State is here---------->. No funding whatsoever. The Catholic schools still need to meet a certain standard of education, but other then that, nothing. The schools are funded by the Church and other private donations.

@Spartacus- You from South Eastern PA?

When I went to High School, the same thing applied (get good grades and go to college), except I wasn't being babied socially like most private school kids are. Also, faith shouldn't be involved in education at all, and that's coming from a devout religious person. Education and religion are two entirely different topics, and shouldn't be mixed together at the expense of developing minds.

I feel as though the term "private school" is used too generally. While when viewing the type you implied I would agree with you 87% (there are always exceptions, even in those situations) a lot of the religious schools are very underfunded.

Yes, to the extent of: Until 1998, the history books in my school ended before Kennedy was assasinated. Also, there was no air conditioning, little heat, and if you've lived in mid Atlantic America you know that sucks.

I'm aware there is exceptions, as a general rule though, people who went to private school for their entire education are usually ill equipped to function correctly in your standard social environment. Also, what does church school funding have to do with anything?

To your first point I agree yet disagree. To wide a field to make such claims. To the second, this may actually help you, most people coming out of those private institutions are unprepared because they do not have the same resources at their disposal as others coming from public and better funded private institutions.

I don't think that's very accurate. Unless the private school you go to is really small, it's almost exactly like public school in terms of the social environment.

    Explain and please provide evidence.

I see it more as a matter of work ethic then intelligence level.

I agree with part of this. But there are times that public institutions don't provide the necessary materials.
