No it shouldn't. Can't justify it though.

All that matters is consistency. I can't think of a single good reason not to legalise it but at the same time I don't want it legalised.

That is not a sufficient reason, as it was originally legal, you would first need to think of a reason for it to be illegal, not why it should be legal. In my opinion, legality has the benefit of the doubt.

Sure, make it legal, but on the condition that it would be subject to pretty much the same restrictions as smoking tobacco. That is to say, at the very least, with a heavy sin tax and a ban in public.

They're inferior human beings for needing or wanting to lose control over their own mind, but we can't go legislating against our lessers, unfortunately.

It's not illegal to smoke tobacco in public.

No, but it is legal for public places to prohibit it.

Indeed it is. That sounds reasonable enough. Though the sin tax may actually be counter productive to your anti-marijuana crusade.

Not necessarily, a Tax for marijuana will be Stimulating for the economy, but to much tax and you will drug dealers stronger then ever, The Prohibition, is an excellent example.

Somewhat correct. If taxed the way Kal is suggesting, not much would change.

I think your missing my argument it's very simple.

    I don't want it legalised
therefore I don't want it legalised.

I don't have to give you a rational reason to justify my position, I don't claim that the other side has the burden of proof. I am not saying that it is wrong morally or otherwise, it's not a claim about the state of the universe. It's simply the claim that I don't think it should be legalised.

I think even with a heavy sin tax it would still be much cheaper than the current situation. I don't know the reality of the situation, being a sober individual, but illegality inflates prices massively.

It's true. Not only is the actual cost higher, but there is a degree of risk involved that most people would avoid even if it did cost them more.

or for you guys who are more into... not reggae.

Also before i forget. Ganja should be legalized, not only can it be taxed but allot of people who would otherwise have gone to jail for drug possesion, won't now saving the goverment allot of money.
