Look Ler, what you are attempting to do is transcribe your reality, and non-conscriptive and non-threatened by constant conflict, onto matt's. While I agree somewhat that if it were me, speaking from the perspective of one who does not have kids, a wife, comrades in arms, etc., I would want to live to see my kids grow up, but that is only because I live in a completely different world from Matt. If the US went to war with Iran, there would only be one person I know who I would have to worry about. So I cannot say that Matt is immoral for wanting to fight.

When you turn 18 make sure to fill out your selective service form than. I have one already and like you if I was called up I would serve my country I would. (doesn't mean I wouldn't be scared but I would still go)

Somebody read the Prince, chapter 17 is where it is mentioned and he makes a great comperhison between Hannibal barca and Scipio africanias and how there was no rebellions in Hannibal's armies because they feared him, while in Scipio had entire legions rebel against him in Iberia and Norther Italia.

Fear is a means to a end, and that is security to the prince.

I think it's something to do with his spine I believe. I would also like to know why people in the U.S. have to register in case of a draft. I know here a draft would be met with extremely fierce and violent opposition.

Nobody should be screwing around in another Middle Eastern country anymore, more conflicts will be too expensive in both monetary and human costs.

Some people believe that the destroyer of a nation is and will always be a war between another nation. In this day and time, with the United Nations and the Geneva convention affecting war, and the rapid increase in technology, I would argue that there is a new way to destroy nations, it still involves war, but it will destroy both nations regardless of which of the two wins, that way would be a collapse in the value of a country. A collapse in military funding, business' and people, and thus is open to a new conflict.

Or you could escape to Canada.

So, the collapse of both nations is better than the collapse of just one?

Completely the opposite. I haven't said that at all.
We should be using military force as a preventitive form of stopping conflicts, if at all possible.

Go with the old Vietnam plan.
    That is true.
In case of a major War but we haven't drafted anyone since Vietnam. Also didn't Canada only draft people in World War II and that really pissed off alout of Canadians.
