There is another quest that has you turn into one permanently. Not going to say which one, since it's a spoiler.
Anyone know which settings on the PC are equivalent to the console versions? Specifically object and actor view distance.
Hey did anyone else get dragon armor yet? It's badass to begin with but when upgrade it fully it's fucking amazing.
Yep, I have full legendary dragon plate on my main. Also (no spoilers) I just completed the main quest line and it absolutely destroys Oblivion's main quest line. It was amazing and I felt like such a badass afterwards.
Just make crap tons of iron daggers and your smithing will be at 100 before you know it. Then you'll be making glass, ebony, daedric and dragon armor and weapons.
Looking at the map, I hope that they will incorperate faster modes of transport in FO4. I mean, the horse is okay and all, but the game is really split between using fast travel and missing the massive amount of stuff between the place where you recieve the quest and the objective location waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over there. Dragons attacking villages that you go to can be very... stressful. You have to keep redoing the battles and hoping that the thing doesn't fry anybody you need for a quest. And no matter what you do, bow and arrow will NOT be more effective. So far the guards with their **** near auto-targeting deal more ranged damage than me swinging around my bow wildly trying to aim at the dragon. Its FAR easier just to wait for the bloody thing to land and slash it to death. So far, I've had a couple of encounters with dragons. One was particularly frustrating in that the dragon kept flying around above a small cluster of buildings and looping with some mountains somewhat distant. The frustration was that it never actually iniated the combat sequence by landing on the ground or on a building or even attacking anyone, so I ended up wasting arrows trying to hit it to initiate the combat. It flew away in the end and I was out alot of arrows for nothing. I don't know if it was supposed to do that or it was a glitch or something. Note: I have had limited time on the game, so these are just preliminary analysii. @ Chelsea366 I'm not sure grinding a non-combat skill is a good idea. At the beginning of the game, where you are supposed to sneak past/shoot the bear, I grinded my sneak to 25 before I attacked. I am quite certain that I screwed up part of my game already. Through experience in Oblivion, I can tell you that grinding is usually a bad idea in Bethesda games. In Oblivion I got 100 alchemy which I used to make a tonne of potions and became rich. I bought the best gear there was on sale, but the fact remained that my combat skills lagged behind while my enemies were set according to my character's level. Suffice to say, I got stuck for a LONG time.
Not a good idea? Is it not a good idea to have an ebony war axe and the second strongest armor in the game, both fully upgraded, far before you could ever purchase anything close? My equipment alone gave me a huge edge.
It'd be like having a feather for a weapon and battlestar-class armor. They can't kill you, but it takes FOREVER to kill them. But then, if you did it, maybe they made some adjustments from Oblivion to eliminate the grinding problem. I doubt it though. And you still have to purchase the material for it. Unless you know a good place where I can get free obsidion ingots...?
I know mines to get all the ore I need but yes I mostly purchased the iron for the daggers. It was so far from a feather that it wasn't funny. I was one hitting enemies and anything I wasn't one hitting I was still taking down quickly. Within reason of course, you still shouldn't charge 3 mammoths and 2 giants. Note that I was not doing this from the very beginning, I did have some skill in one handed weapons.
Like I said, I just started. Some questions parhaps? 1. Can you actually forge bows? I haven't seen any options for it yet... 2. Did you actually have any problems with combat - character level imbalences?
Yes you can forge bows but only out of certain materials. I didn't encounter many problems personally. I kept it at adept dif. Now tougher enemies could still be a problem but bandits I was killing fast. Weak enemies like wolves were one hits.
