Your gaining money from somthing you do not own copy-right too.

your site is about let's playing, and you have advertisement on this site?

you are gaining money from the thing you are let's playing.

you also do not have any right to share hours of full games.

:l just saying, someone COULD sue you.

    No they cant.

Stalin is obeying the fair use law and he is not directly making money from the footage. I can go on with this for ever, but this guy sums it up very well

I can assure you, Stalin is not making (much) money from this.
I can also assure you that at least one video-game developer will not be suing.

Could be argued and you could attempt to sue. I think you'd lose but hey, whatever floats your boat.

It's actually an interesting legal question. There actually are certain copyright infringement issues going on. Think back to the youtube days, and the taking down of his videos. The games are protected pieces of intellectual property.

That being said, it would be fairly pointless to sue, and it's not like any attorney could calculate anything more then whatever Stalin brings home in ad revenue (which I'm assuming is a tid bit lower then lawyers fees) in terms of punitive damages. Also, you can fairly easily argue his videos serve as free advertising, so it would be hard to build a large case against him.

What are they going to get if they sue? his cat!
It would be utterly pointless to sue... and anyway I don't think the site is a "cash cow" in the sense that he is unlikely to be making a heap of money from it.

But it is an intriguing question to ponder :)

Edit:I mean I've bought more than one game because of watching Spence's Let's Plays, so Stalin is really giving them free advertisement

Not to meantion I am not an American citizen so I am not subject to American copy write law. I am subject to canada's laughably outdated copy write laws.

There is no law nor ANY legal case where some one is sued due to posting gameplay footage online, ever. And Stalin is making money out of adds & sponsors, not by putting footage on there.

Did u watch that vid I attached?

Hey, i'd like to say thx to all the people calling me a dev.

also, thx to stalin for posting a reply :p

i know noone would sue you for it, also.

people come to this website for the LET'S PLAYS and the let's plays are copyrighted, and you have ad's on your site because people visit it.

so that means, people go on your site for the let's plays and you get paid when they come on this site.

so you are gaining (some amount) of money, thx to the let's plays, so someone could take the vids down. (atleast, thats what i think)

I don't really get why anyone would sue, it's free advertising!
And yes, the Canadian Copyright laws are laughable, you can pirate games here (or so I hear).

So, people could sue, but they won't. For a wide variety of reasons.
Apart from Paradox interactive; Stalin has such a bad relationship with them, they're gonna sue him for every penny he's ever had

Think about it. Without advertising this site wouldn't be here! It's not free to run a website. He's not breaking any copyright rules. He's not doing this just to make money either.

There is a difference between making money to keep a site running and pocketing the money. Plus the whole world isn't under US rule.
