I can't adequately explain how wrong you are in every single respect, so I'm just going to tell you to actually PLAY the game before you judge it. It is an open world, the pvp basically the same as WoW's cept more awesome, you can effect the world around you far more then you can in world of warcraft thats for sure. It's "story zones" don't limit your exploration or interaction with other players nearly as much as you make it out to be. I conclude that your a presumptuous ass hat.
Wow was a terrible game, and I have no respect for it. In my opinion, an open world is hundreds, or thousands of miles of land, none of which contains any loading screens. Can you make buildings, dig holes, create shops, houses, cities and governments, hire npc soldiers or destroy any existing structures (Ala Star wars galaxies) - If not, then your actions have absolutely no effect on the world. May also be worth mentioning that I don't consider wow 'Pvp' to be 'Pvp' - Pvp, in my mind, constitutes huge open-world battles, in which you fighting will action effect something (Not just getting points or whatever), and which anybody can participate in equally, regardless of level or equipment. If it has none of these things, then in my mind, it isn't an MMORPG.
For what it's worth, WoW was a pretty damn good game in it's prime (and it's still decent), and so is this one. But sure, everyone would love to have a game like that. It would be perfect. But it would also be unfocused, buggy as hell, and spend 12 years in development hell until someone mercy killed the entire project. A good MMORPG needs focus, good writers, good loots, and good endgame. Other things are secondary. Either way, none of those things constitute what a MMORPG is, or can be. It certainly doesn't require all that shit to be good or considered a MMO. Games like that could be fun, but I will always take a highly polished and driven experience over a bloated and buggy one.
Star Wars Galaxies was a decent game after the big update. The Old Republic is vastly superior in every way though.
We soviet's should make a big league huttball team. Would be baller. Oh, and to Ler seriously? This is a star wars MMORPG not your fantasy life simulator , and when people have a lot of fun with it that means it's good.
